Class of 2016: UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has signed on for fundraisers!  We have confirmed all spots for July 19, August 15/16, and September 12.  Now, we just need everyone to please keep your commitments (i.e. let work and others know you have a commitments on your days)!  We still need 2 people for July 18 and 5 or 6 for September 26/27 ... first come, first served.  Mr. Hill will be sending additional information about each event via email this summer.

Library Books:

Of the 74 books still owed to the library, 50 are from this year.  They include books to read for pleasure and distraction, like graphic novels and romances, but mostly books checked out for old class projects, like history and English research projects.  Have you returned all the books you got out ages ago for an assignment?

However, 24 of the books owed are from LAST year.  These owes will continue to follow you until you graduate.  If you've forgotten what books you forgot to return for a project last year, just think how hard it will be to find them the week before you graduate, when you have to pay up or return them in order to get your diploma.  Find them and return them NOW.

Sophomores:

Sophomore class advisors:  President:  Sarah Chase

                                      Secretary-Taylor Yelle

                                          Vice President-Logan Wilder

There are still some leftover shirts in size small and medium. If you missed out, and you want one of these awesome shirts, come see Ms. Haubrich with $10!

Class of 2017 Parents & Students:

We have several opportunities during the summer months to raise funds for the Class of 2017.  Our goal is to give every member of the class the opportunity to earn money toward their costs of attending their Jr. Prom next year, and also toward senior trips and graduation costs their senior year.  All funds earned are tracked by individuals' names.

There are four Farmer's Markets planned for Belmont this summer.  If any parent/student has a berry patch, large garden, or is a crafter, there is an opportunity for you to earn some extra money toward your costs associated with the next two years at BHS.  Please review the summary below and contact Gretta Olson-Wilder (Logan's mom) if interested.

Belmont Old Home Day is Saturday, August 1.  The Class of 2017 normally runs a food booth.  You can sign up for hourly shifts 11 am – 3 pm.

Road, Relay and Fun Competition Day is Saturday, August 8 in Belmont.  This is a new event that will include a 10-Mile Road Race, 10-Mile Relay Race, a 5k, and several other types of races (Sack Races, Sponge Relay, etc.).  We are looking for ideas  on what we could sell at this event that will run 8 am – 12:00 pm, such as a smoothie bar, healthy snacks, etc.  Any parent that would like to take on the creation and supervision of one or two booths for this event, please contact Gretta Olson-Wilder at 998-7998 or 524-2782.

Timberman Triathlon is August 14 – 16.  The Class of 2017 helps with athlete registrations on Friday afternoon & evening at Gunstock Recreation Area in Gilford, with shifts of 12-4 pm and 4-8 pm.  This is a fun way to make some money and interact with a lot of people from various countries.  Volunteers must be friendly and able to stand for several hours.  On Sunday, we are in charge of an Aid Station on Rte. 106 across from the Belmont Post Office.  The hours are roughly 7:00 am – 1 pm.  Volunteers must be flexible as there are several different tasks, and must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.  Contact Gretta Olson-Wilder at 998-7998 or 524-2782 if you are interested in helping with Friday night and/or Sundaymorning.
