Strategic Planning Workshop

Dear Shaker Regional Families, Staff, and School Board Members,

I would like to invite you to a workshop to update the school district's current Strategic Direction. Many of you were part of the original 2012 Strategic Plan Steering Committee and participated in the development of the 2015 Strategic Direction. The Strategic Direction serves as the foundation for educating our students. It is now time to update the eight vision areas as outlined in the plan by adding action steps and timelines. During the two-day workshop, discussions will lead to identifying strategic goals for the next five years. The current plan is available on our website (www.sau80.org) under the "District Information" tab.

I do hope you can attend one or both days of this workshop. Your input is very important in this process.

The workshop is Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, at Belmont High School.

Please RSVP to register for one or both days by March 8, 2017 to Alicia Sperazzo at 603-267-9223 or asperazzo@sau80.org.  Food and childcare will be available.

I hope you have a great vacation week.
Michael

PTO CORNER

BHS PTO has cancelled their February 16th meeting due to a conflict with the SRSB Public Hearing on SB2 being held that evening.

On February 15, 2017 at 6:00 PM, the Belmont Elementary School, Canterbury Elementary School, and Belmont High School PTOs are pleased to sponsor the first in a series of community conversations about personalized teaching and learning. We will be kicking off the evening with dinner followed by a screening of the movie "Most Likely to Succeed."  The movie prompts us to re-imagine the future of schools and to observe innovative learning opportunities for our students. After the 90-minute screening, I will facilitate a panel discussion and group conversation using the movie's key points to drive questions about our school district. The panel will consist of district administrators and representatives from Lakes Region Community College. This event is the first in a series of opportunities to have open conversations about our school district's future status with personalized teaching and learning.  We hope you can join us for an evening of food, entertainment, and enriching dialogue.

 Please mark your calendars for:

February 15, 2017
Lakes Region Community College – Academic Commons
5:30 PM : Dinner
6:00 - 7:30 PM : Movie
7:30 - 8:30 PM : Panel Discussion
