Culture Survey Feedback

Dear Shaker Regional Families,

I hope this email finds you doing well and enjoying your summer months.  As your new Interim Superintendent, I would like to express my appreciation and enthusiasm for being part of the Shaker community.  I have had the pleasure of meeting several people, including parents, students, and staff over the past four weeks.  All have been very welcoming and have expressed a genuine commitment to our school district.  I have come to realize in a short period of time that Shaker is a great place to be.  My first introduction to the community was at a public forum held by the Shaker Regional School Board this past May.  The purpose of the forum was for the community to provide feedback regarding the results of the Culture Survey that was conducted in November and December, 2015.   We are fortunate to have the notes from the forum for future reference and potential discussions.  Please see the attachment and a note below from our Chairperson, Mr. Sean Embree.  A copy of the notes will also be made available at the SAU office per your request.  Thank you and I look forward to a great school year.

Respectfully,

Michael J. Tursi

Interim Superintendent of Schools
Shaker Regional School District

To All Stakeholders of the Shaker Regional School District:

Thank you to all of you that were able to attend the feedback session held in late May to discuss the culture survey conducted by the Shaker Regional School Board.  Attached are the notes taken at the feedback session for your reference.  We will be working to improve communication district wide and ensure district initiatives and their timelines are understood to provide the best education for all Belmont and Canterbury students.

If you have any questions or comments on the attached notes from the feedback session, please contact Sean Embree, SRSB Chairperson, at sembree@sau80.org

Best Regards,

Sean Embree, SRSB Chairperson

TT

Hello Everyone,

NHMS needs our help during the July 17th race. They are VERY short on volunteers and have sent out a "MAYDAY" email asking for our help in creating more groups to help with parking. Mrs. Hampton and I will be running these volunteer opportunities for our parents and students. All parent volunteers need to have been through the volunteer registration with the district and fingerprinted. If you want to do this, you can call the SAU at 267-9223 to set this up. All student volunteers need to be at least 16 years old at the time of the event. Mrs. Hampton and I will be putting the funds into your designated class account. Please consider helping NHMS, as they have been very generous over the years to BHS and SRSD. I will need to confirm volunteers by this Thursday (the 7th). Please contact me via email to confirm. llavallee@sau80.org

Thank you!
