Parent Survey

Dear Parents,

I would like to thank all of you who came out for our Open House last night.  The event was well attended and we appreciate all the support and feedback.  As part of our continued efforts to keep parents and families educated and informed about the exciting work going on at Belmont High School, we have attached a brief survey intended to gather information about topics related to our transition to competency-based education.

The results will be used to help shape our communication plan and provide topics of discussion for future parent forums and coffee nights.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey.  Your feedback is extremely important to us.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.

Have a great weekend,

Dave

Re: Homecoming 2018

You're doing a great job Paul.  Thanks for the communication!

Good Afternoon Parents,

I would like to take a minute to communicate with everyone about our homecoming weekend schedule. This week there have been a few small changes made to our schedule, and unfortunately, after the schedule was sent out this morning, we had to make one more.

I sincerely apologize for the shuffling of our games this close to the event. I know how special homecoming weekend is and that many of you coordinate having family members and friends come back to watch our athletes play, and the last thing that you need is for the schedule to change so much.

Please understand that these changes were made in an effort to accommodate several factors, the most important of which was an effort to space out the games so that our varsity teams had their own time-slot, which allows our students and community to watch each team play without having to choose between them. Our student-athletes also love supporting their classmates, so the changes also help allow them to experience as much of homecoming as possible. While I wish it were possible to also space the games out to allow for the JV athletes to not have to compete with the varsity schedule, it was not possible for this year. I promise I will look at this moving forward, as homecoming is a special experience for all of our athletes, freshmen-senior.

Again, I apologize for the late notice on this schedule change, and for the resulting confusion that has occurred today with these conflicting new schedules. Please know that this is the final change to be made and that the schedule attached to this email is accurate. I assure you that when the schedule for next year's homecoming is made this fall, all of these factors will be considered from the start to allow for time for families to plan and to make our homecoming the best possible homecoming experience for our athletes and community.

If you have any questions, concerns, or frustrations to voice over what has occurred with regards to homecoming, please send me an email, call, or schedule a time to come in and discuss them with me in person. I am always happy to listen to parents and members of this community when it comes to our athletic programs and would welcome that feedback to continue to improve our homecoming experience.

Thank you, and Go Red Raiders!

Boys JV Soccer

Good Afternoon Parents,

Please note that today's JV soccer game will now be played at 4:00 p.m., not 5:30 p.m. to allow for the possibility of getting a full game in before it gets too dark.

Also, please note that our concession stand is now open and will be selling drinks and snacks during today's varsity game.

Re: Weekly Bulletin

Hi Parents,

There is also a boys football game on Saturday, Sept 22 against Bow at The Meadows. 2:30 kickoff. Unfortunately, with the team being a co-op, I don't have their schedule in our software so that is why you don't see it in the report generated above.

Boys Soccer today

Good Afternoon Parents,

Please note that our Boys Varsity Soccer game that is at InterLakes H.S. today will now start at 4:30 p.m., not 4 p.m. The JV game will be played immediately following the varsity.

I understand that this change may cause some problems and be inconvenient for people, particularly with the community event that is taking place tonight, however, the change is unavoidable due to a bus issue. Every effort was made to keep the game at 4 p.m. but it was just not possible. Thank you for understanding.

Open House Invitation

Dear Parents,

In an effort to improve communication we plan to begin using a webcast format to share some of the things that are happening at Belmont High School.

This first webcast is a simple invitation to our open house on Thursday, September 27th.  Future webcasts will focus on our transition to competency-based education and the many changes that BHS has undergone in preparation for our new report card and transcript which will be ready next school year.

We hope you appreciate the format and please let us known if there are particular topics that you would like to learn more about.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

BHS Updates and Open House

Dear Parents,

We are off to a great start to our school year!  I would like to thank you for your support with our new cell phone policy.  Students have been great about it and we have already seen a reduction of distractions at the classroom level.

Please be on the lookout for our new website and our weekly updates which will be up and running early next week.  Picture day is scheduled for Monday, September 10th.

Our Open House has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 27th at 6:00pm. We will begin the evening with a comprehensive overview of our competency-education model and share many of the great things happening at BHS.

We hope to see you all at open house.  As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Dave
