Unfortunately, the fan bus did not generate enough interest and we did not get the numbers required to be able to travel to Exeter tomorrow night.

Athletics:

*Boys Varsity Soccer Semifinals- vs Fall Mtn Regional, tomorrow night @ 6:00PM- Bill Ball Stadium @ Exeter High School- bus departs @ 3:00PM. Admission prices: $5 per student/ $7 per adult paid at the gate.

*Varsity  and JV girls soccer will be meeting this Friday to collect uniforms and have individual meetings to talk about the off season.

* BHS is making every effort to get a fan bus to travel to tomorrow nights  game in Exeter. The bus will be for students as well as parents, but we must have at least 40 people  signed up and paid for by the end of school today. The bus will stop at the McDonalds in Raymond on the way to the game, but will come straight back to the high school at the conclusion of the game. Cost for the bus per person is $5.00. Bus will depart at 3:15.

Table Tennis tables will be set up in the gym after school today and tomorrow for anyone interested in playing .

Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9-3 in the Main Lodge @ Gunstock in Gilford. Choose from a huge selection of new and used inventory from 14 area ski shops. Drop off old gear for a small consignment fee on Friday, Nov 2 from 4-8PM. Proceeds benefit the Gunstock Ski Club ski racing program for area kids. Go to Gunstockskiclub.com for more information.

 

Shoe Drive:

Stephanie Kruzel is asking for shoe donations. The shoes will benefit children and adults in Africa. The shoe box is located in the main office. Cash donations will also be accepted as it costs $1 to ship one pair of shoes. Cash donations can also be dropped off in the main office. Deadline for collections is Nov 10th. Your extra pair of shoes could be their first. Thank you for your support.


Food Drive:

Lakes Region Vineyard Church is asking for donations for their food pantry. Donated items can be brought to the BHS main office until Nov 20th.

 

Band:

All band students that participated in the butterbraid fundraiser: orders arrive this Friday, November 2 at 2:00.  Please make sure you have a ride home, as we cannot hold product for you over the weekend.  If other arrangements need to be made, please contact Ms. Fountain before Thursday.

* UNH Manchester is having a two high school open house events scheduled for Wednesday, November 7th and Saturday, November 17th.  Students can obtain information a register online at: http://manchester.unh.edu/admissions/high-school-open-house  .   Besides the standard tour and admissions information we'll be running a session specifically for parents on: financial aid & how to pay for college, how to assist your child in navigating the college search process and the importance of selecting your senior year courses.

This career panel will take place on Thursday, November 8th at the Huot Technical Center in Laconia from 10:15-12:15 We only have 20 spots available, so please sign up in the guidance office ASAP!! Students will be transported to and from the Huot by bus and this field trip is FREE. Remember to pick up a permission slip when you sign up.  Come and learn about different professions, enjoy small group discussions-where your questions will be answered, and gain advice on how to successful in this field.

Holiday Fair - The 6th Annual BHS Holiday Fair hosted by FBLA will be held on Saturday, November 10th from 9am to 3pm at the high school.  Over 100 crafters and vendors are expected, and the day will also include a raffle and breakfast, lunch, and snacks offered by various student groups.  Interested vendors can contact Mr. Hill at bhill@sau80.org for more information.  A portion of the proceeds from the fair will be donated to local charities for the holiday season.  Make plans now to come start your holiday shopping with us!  Thank you for your support! 

 Can tabs - FBLA will be collecting can tabs throughout the year for David's House.  Students are asking families to set up a collection bag or box at home and periodically bring them in.  The can tabs will be delivered to David's House at the end of March.  Thank you for supporting this great cause!

Fan Bus for the Semifinal boys soccer game

Hello, 

BHS is making every effort to get a fan bus to travel to Thursday nights game in Exeter. The bus will be for students as well as parents, but we must have at least 40 people  signed up and paid for by the end of school tomorrow . The bus will stop at the McDonald's in Raymond on the way to the game, but will come straight back to the high school at the conclusion of the game. Cost for the bus per person is $5.00. Bus will depart at 3:15.


Those interested need to sign up in the main office and pay their $5.


Please also note that admission tickets can be purchased at the entrance $5.00 per students, $7.00 for adults.

Tomorrow night  @ 6:00PM the Canterbury Boy Scouts will be hosting their annual Spook Walk in the center of Canterbury. The boy scouts are looking for volunteers. There will be a meeting on Friday at the Town Hall from 3:00-3:30PM and on Saturday at 10:00AM for set up of the Spook Walk. A sign up sheet is located in front of the band room. Volunteers are asked to be there at 5:00PM.

Tour their state-of-the-art Auto Technology Center, meet with faculty and learn about their Auto Programs. Apply on Saturday and they will waive the $20 application fee!

 Can tabs - FBLA will be collecting can tabs throughout the year for David's House.  Students are asking families to set up a collection bag or box at home and periodically bring them in.  The can tabs will be delivered to David's House at the end of March.  Thank you for supporting this great cause!

Cash donations will also be accepted as it costs $1 to ship one pair of shoes. Cash donations can also be dropped off in the main office. Deadline for collections is Nov 10th. Your extra pair of shoes could be their first. Thank you for your support.

Lakes Region Vineyard Church is asking for donations for their food pantry. Donated items can be brought to the BHS main office until Nov 20th.

We are looking for students interested in Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security to attend a Career Panel Discussion with a Fire Chief, Police Detective, Correctional Supervisor, Lawyer, Forensic Accountant, Federal Marshall and more!! This career panel will take place on Thursday, November 8th at the Huot Technical Center in Laconia from 10:15-12:15 We only have 20 spots available, so please sign up in the guidance office ASAP!! Students will be transported to and from the Huot by bus and this field trip is FREE. Picture retakes will be tomorrow. Any student who had a picture taken who is not happy with their portrait should bring in their pictures on retake day.  It is very helpful if you  have a comment why you  did not like the picture, i.e. your  hair was not right, the smile.. This way the photographer will make sure that the student's pose is not the same as before.When a student brings in his/her old picture(s) and wants to receive the same package they do not have to fill a new order form.  But if anything should change they will need to add the additional cost and to make sure the background is the same.Please note that new ID's will NOT be taken, so the ID you have already received is the ID you will use for this school year.

If you were not here for picture day last month you will need to have your photo taken for ID purposes regardless if you are planning on purchasing a portrait package or not.

Athletics:

The Cross-Country Team competed in a cold rain Friday afternoon at Merrimack Valley.  Kyle Patten lead the boys in 21:01 (68th), followed by Travis Akerstom (77), Tyler Rolfe (85), Ian Rupp (86), Brennan Malone (106), Nikolai Fernandez (107), and Devon Kenney (114).  The girls were lead by Julia Ashey in 27:48 (79th), followed by Hannah Drew-Moyer (83), Michele Wieting (91), and Micah Remenar (103).  Good run in tough conditions.

Drivers Ed:

The Fall/Winter Drivers Ed session will begin on 10/25 and run until 1/3/2013. If you are interested in taking this class please stop by the main office for a registration packet.  Please make note that you will need to turn 16 by the time the class ends. Deposit of $150 is due when you sign up for the class with remaining deposit of $500 due prior to the first day of class.
