HERE'S WHAT'S NEW:

 

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  This year's prom is being held at the Inn on Newfound Lake on Saturday, May 21st from 6pm-11pm.  Tickets will be on sale during the week of April 18 through April 22 ONLY.  They will be sold during Power Hour in the lobby for $50 each.  Payment may be made in cash or checks made out to Belmont High School.  Guest permission slips will be available at the time of ticket purchase for anyone bringing a guest that does not currently attend Belmont High School.

 

Congratulations to Charlie Witham for coming in first place and taking best in show at the Anna Lee Thorndike art competition last night at the Belknap mill in Laconia

 

Prom news!  The prom venue is allowing us to bump back the day they need the final head count, so prom tickets will remain on sale when we get back from vacation through Thursday, May 5th.  Please be sure to buy your tickets no later than that date!!

 

SADD:  There will be a mandatory SADD meeting today at Power Hour. Please bring your lunch.

 

Softball:  The softball team beat Farmington 21 - 1. Megan Prescott pitched 4 innings allowing 4 hits. Lizzie Fleming pitched the 5th and struck out the 3 batters she faced. Page Dillon and Chantel Martin both recorded their first varsity hits. Shannon Davies remains hot going 4/5 with 3 doubles and a triple. The girls have a few days off before facing White Mountains next week.

 

Aviation Discovery Day:  Please see the attached information regarding Aviation Discovery Day hosted by the BHS Freshman on May 14, 2016 from 9-3 pm at Laconia Airport.  Please plan to come enjoy the fun!

 

Driver's Ed:  If you are interested in driver's education for next year, please come in to the office to get a registration paper and register early for next year's classes.  The first fall class is full.  The next available class starts October 31st

 

StudentsWant a chance to go to California's Yosemite National Park next year? Earth, Ecological and Environmental Stewardship class is a hands-on, outside, collecting data, STEM based course. Mr. Deshaies and Ms. Deuell are looking for students to sign up for their class. Students enrolled in the class have the opportunity to go to California, as well as many local field trips in NH. Please go to guidance and sign up now!! (Please note you need a passing grade in biology to enroll).

 

Students:  Applications for summer school recovery are available in guidance. Please stop in and pick one up if you are planning on attending.

 

Seis De Mayo DanceThe Seis De Mayo dance will be held Friday, May 6th in the cafeteria from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.  Admission is $5 and food and drinks will be available to purchase.

StudentsWant a chance to go to California's Yosemite National Park next year? Earth, Ecological and Environmental Stewardship class is a hands-on, outside, collecting data, STEM based course. Mr. Deshaies and Ms. Deuell are looking for students to sign up for their class. Students enrolled in the class have the opportunity to go to California, as well as many local field trips in NH. Please go to guidance and sign up now!! (Please note you need a passing grade in biology to enroll).

 

Students:  Applications for summer school recovery are available in guidance. Please stop in and pick one up if you are planning on attending.

 

Raffle:    Raffle tickets for a $250 gift basket are currently being sold from now until TODAY.  There are over $100 in gift cards to Concord businesses as well as a myriad of different confectionary goodies.  Prices are $2 for 1 ticket, $5 for 3 tickets and $10 for 6 tickets.  All proceeds go to Michael Sanborn's Diploma of Distinction project raising money for the Farnum Center North in Franklin, NH for their substance abuse program.

BHS Varsity Softball:   The softball team bounced back after a tough loss to Winnisquam to beat Bow 18-0. Meg Prescott got the win going 4 innings. Lizzie Fleming pitched the last inning striking out 2. Shannon Davies had a monster home run while Jordan and Taylor Lavallee each had 2 hits.

Belmont Good Citizen: The ceremony for Belmont Good Citizen 2016 will be held this evening, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 7PM at the Corner Meeting House in Belmont.  Ten Belmont students were nominated from our current senior class. The award and reception is an excellent way to acknowledge the leaders of tomorrow. Family, friends and teachers are welcome to attend!

Raffle:    Raffle tickets for a $250 gift basket are currently being sold from now until Thursday, April 21st.  There are over $100 in gift cards to Concord businesses as well as a myriad of different confectionary goodies.  Prices are $2 for 1 ticket, $5 for 3 tickets and $10 for 6 tickets.  All proceeds go to Michael Sanborn's Diploma of Distinction project raising money for the Farnum Center North in Franklin, NH for their substance abuse program.

 

Seis De Mayo DanceThe Seis De Mayo dance will be held Friday, May 6th in the cafeteria from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.  Admission is $5 and food and drinks will be available to purchase. 

 

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  This year's prom is being held at the Inn on Newfound Lake on Saturday, May 21st from 6pm-11pm.  Tickets will be on sale during the week of April 18 through April 22.  They will be sold during Power Hour in the lobby for $50 each.  Payment may be made in cash or checks made out to Belmont High School.  Guest permission slips will be available at the time of ticket purchase for anyone bringing a guest that does not currently attend Belmont High School.

Description:

·         Pick-Up style Play (1's & 2's)

·         King of the Court

·         People waiting for next will play winner, and pick up any remaining players if necessary

·         Players on losing team will shoot for next game

·         Score count will be determined depending on how many show up. (i.e. 11 or 15, win by 2)

·         DO NOT SHOW UP IF YOU HAVE HOMEWORK TO COMPLETE

Cool Schools:  Only 2 more weeks for Steeplegate receipts. We are only .01/student behind for points. The new Hatbox Theater and the Bounce House/Laser Tag will be triple points during vacation week.  Help us earn more money for BHS. Receipts may be turned in through the first week of May.
