Athletics:

*Boys Varsity Soccer Semifinals- vs Fall Mtn Regional, tomorrow night @ 6:00PM- Bill Ball Stadium @ Exeter High School- bus departs @ 3:00PM. Admission prices: $5 per student/ $7 per adult paid at the gate.

*Varsity  and JV girls soccer will be meeting this Friday to collect uniforms and have individual meetings to talk about the off season.

* BHS is making every effort to get a fan bus to travel to tomorrow nights  game in Exeter. The bus will be for students as well as parents, but we must have at least 40 people  signed up and paid for by the end of school today. The bus will stop at the McDonalds in Raymond on the way to the game, but will come straight back to the high school at the conclusion of the game. Cost for the bus per person is $5.00. Bus will depart at 3:15.

Table Tennis tables will be set up in the gym after school today and tomorrow for anyone interested in playing .

 SALT team meeting tomorrow, 2:15PM in library.

 

Gunstock Ski Sale:

Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9-3 in the Main Lodge @ Gunstock in Gilford. Choose from a huge selection of new and used inventory from 14 area ski shops. Drop off old gear for a small consignment fee on Friday, Nov 2 from 4-8PM. Proceeds benefit the Gunstock Ski Club ski racing program for area kids. Go to Gunstockskiclub.com for more information.

 

Shoe Drive:

Stephanie Kruzel is asking for shoe donations. The shoes will benefit children and adults in Africa. The shoe box is located in the main office. Cash donations will also be accepted as it costs $1 to ship one pair of shoes. Cash donations can also be dropped off in the main office. Deadline for collections is Nov 10th. Your extra pair of shoes could be their first. Thank you for your support.


Food Drive:

Lakes Region Vineyard Church is asking for donations for their food pantry. Donated items can be brought to the BHS main office until Nov 20th.

 

Band:

All band students that participated in the butterbraid fundraiser: orders arrive this Friday, November 2 at 2:00.  Please make sure you have a ride home, as we cannot hold product for you over the weekend.  If other arrangements need to be made, please contact Ms. Fountain before Thursday.

 

News from the Guidance Office:

* First quarter marks close Friday, Nov 2nd.

 

* UNH Manchester is having a two high school open house events scheduled for Wednesday, November 7th and Saturday, November 17th.  Students can obtain information a register online at: http://manchester.unh.edu/admissions/high-school-open-house  .   Besides the standard tour and admissions information we'll be running a session specifically for parents on: financial aid & how to pay for college, how to assist your child in navigating the college search process and the importance of selecting your senior year courses.

 

ACT's:

Last day to register for 12/1 ACT's is tomorrow.

 

Congratulations to Senior Elizabeth Yelle, who has been named the DAR Good Citizen for the class of 2013. Elizabeth will be honored in November at a reception sponsored by the Mary Butler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

 

Job shadow opportunities are available with the following organizations for Seniors and Juniors only.  

The Manchester Monarchs (in sales, public relations, athletic training),Titeflex Aerospace (engineering),Concord Hospital (a tour of physical therapy and diagnostic medicine on Nov. 13th),Franklin Savings Bank (banking),3M -- Electrical Markets Division, Blouin Steel Fabricators,University of New Hampshire School of Law (follow a professor and experience law school).

 Calling all Sophomores! Or any other interested students. We are looking for students interested in Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security to attend a Career Panel Discussion with a Fire Chief, Police Detective, Correctional Supervisor, Lawyer, Forensic Accountant, Federal Marshall and more!! This career panel will take place on Thursday, November 8th at the Huot Technical Center in Laconia from 10:15-12:15 We only have 20 spots available, so please sign up in the guidance office ASAP!! Students will be transported to and from the Huot by bus and this field trip is FREE. Remember to pick up a permission slip when you sign up.  Come and learn about different professions, enjoy small group discussions-where your questions will be answered, and gain advice on how to successful in this field.

Clubs:

* Debate Team:

Practice today in the cafeteria @ 2:30PM for the Romney team.

* Math Team:

Math Team members need to meet in Room 112 at break on Thursday.

All Things Graphic:

Meeting today ,  2:15PM in Rm 106

Debate Team:

Presidential Debate will take place tomorrow,  Blk 2/3 in gym for Juniors and Seniors.

Yearbook:

Prom 2012:

"The Yearbook Staff needs your help! We need more pictures from the Junior prom last year. Send in your personal pictures so that everyone can be included in the page. We accept hard copies and digital ones. Hard copies can be placed in Ms. Pitrone's mailbox. Digital copies can be emailed to madison.van.cleave@gmail.com or put on ReplayIt.com Thanks so much Yearbook staff."

Class of 2013:

 The deadline for submitting Senior pictures is fast approaching.  Make sure to get a hard copy or digital image to Ms. Pitrone by November 9th or we will be forced to use your school ID photo.  Please see Ms. Pitrone with any questions or concerns.  Pictures can be emailed to apitrone@sau80.org.

Class of 2014:

* There will be a Prom Committee meeting on Friday, Nov 2nd @ 2:15PM in Rm 209. Please attend as we will be voting on officers.

 

Anyone who would like to purchase a BHS tie-dye shirt please see Mr. Deshaies in Rm 209. T-shirts are $10 and are on a first come first serve basis as quantities and sizes are limited.

Spanish Club:

* Come join the Spanish club Day of the Dead Celebration  Nov. 1, room 105 2:15-3:15.

Fundraising :

 Need an idea for a holiday gift? 2013 NH wildlife calendars or a BHS water bottle $10.  Place your order with one of students or email señora - shampton@sau80.org. Calendars are available until today. Water bottles are available until they are gone.

FBLA:

*FBLA - Please bring your dues ($20) in to Treasurer, Nikolai Fernandez, or Mr. Hill by November 1st.  Nikolai needs to get everyone registered in the next two weeks

Holiday Fair - The 6th Annual BHS Holiday Fair hosted by FBLA will be held on Saturday, November 10th from 9am to 3pm at the high school.  Over 100 crafters and vendors are expected, and the day will also include a raffle and breakfast, lunch, and snacks offered by various student groups.  Interested vendors can contact Mr. Hill at bhill@sau80.org for more information.  A portion of the proceeds from the fair will be donated to local charities for the holiday season.  Make plans now to come start your holiday shopping with us!  Thank you for your support! 

 Can tabs - FBLA will be collecting can tabs throughout the year for David's House.  Students are asking families to set up a collection bag or box at home and periodically bring them in.  The can tabs will be delivered to David's House at the end of March.  Thank you for supporting this great cause!
