End of Year Information and Last Day of School

Good Afternoon Shaker Regional Families,

The last day for students will be Friday, June 21st. If you have been keeping track, we've had 5 cancellations this year due to weather. This would put us at Monday, June 24th as the last day. However, I am waiving one student make-up day because we meet the instructional hour requirement as established by the NH Department of Education. 

The tentative date for senior graduation is June 16th. This is tentative until we receive confirmation from the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. Unfortunately, we are subject to their availability.  Please stay posted for additional details from BHS.

Eighth grade promotion will be on June 20th at 6 PM. BMS will send out additional information as we get closer to the date. 

In summary:

June 16th - Tentative date for senior graduation;

June 20th - 8th grade promotion;

June 21st - Last day (early release) for students.

Spring Sports Night

Good Morning Parents,

I wanted to take a minute to reach out and apologize for last night's meeting and some of the problems that occurred. I had a family emergency that popped up yesterday afternoon, and had to leave school as a result.

Because the meeting had already been rescheduled once, and because of how late in the day that events changed my schedule, the decision was made to keep the night in place with our coaches out of respect of the efforts that parents and families made to put aside the time to come to the meeting.

Unfortunately, as there occasionally are when plans change at the last minute, there were a few problems that popped up at the last minute that were unanticipated and were unable to be dealt with properly. 

I sincerely apologize that the evening was wasted for some of you with the absences that occurred last night. The athletic department and coaching staff here at Belmont understand how valuable your time is and would never want to waste it. I certainly understand any frustration that families felt, and can assure you that this will not happen again. While last night presented some unexpected challenges, communication from the athletic deparment and it's coaches should have been better to avoid the problems that did occur, or at the very least, let families know that there had been some changes in the evening's schedule.

I am happy to meet with anyone who would like to discuss last night or ask any questions about the spring season and our athletic department. I am also always available by phone or via email to answer any questions or address any concerns that you were not able to voice last night.

Spring Sports Parent Night rescheduled

Good afternoon parents,

Tomorrow night's parent meeting for spring sports athletes has been moved to next Wednesday, March 27th at 6:30 p.m. due to some last minute conflicts. Every spring athlete should attend this meeting with at least 1 parent or guardian. After meeting with the AD at 6:30, parents and athletes will break off to meet with coaches. The whole evening should take about an hour.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns, otherwise, we will see you next Wednesday!

Spring Sports: Important Information

Good morning parents, 

Please read below for important information and dates on the start of the spring sports season here at BHS. Please read carefully, especially if you did not have a student-athlete participate in sports this fall or winter, as pieces of the registration process have changed since last year.

1. Spring Sports Parent Night:

There will be a mandatory meeting for all parents or guardians of a BHS student-athlete on Wednesday, March 20 from 6-7 p.m. in the BHS gym. At least one parent or guardian is expected to attend along with their student-athlete. The meeting will provide you with a chance to meet me, our new athletic trainer, and most importantly to hear about important policy guidelines and changes for the upcoming season.

Following the meeting with the AD, parents will break off to classrooms for a team meeting with their student-athlete's coach for the upcoming season. Coaches will use this time to go over team rules and expectations for the upcoming season and to answer more specific questions for their sport. Both myself and the coaches will do our best to keep these meetings brief, but they provide an important opportunity for all of us to get information directly to parents and players and also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have before the season gets rolling.

2. Sports Registration:

All information regarding sports registration can be found on our athletics website by clicking here. Please pay close attention to the registration section, as student-athletes will not be allowed to participate in practices or tryouts unless all four components are met.

3. Tryout/ First Practice Times:

All times listed are for both JV and Varsity players unless otherwise specified.

Baseball	3/18/19	4:00-7:00 pm	BHS Gym
Softball	3/18/19	2:30- 4:00 pm	BHS Gym
Girls Lacrosse	3/18/19	7:00-8:30 pm	BHS Gym
Outdoor Track	3/18/19	2:45-4:15 pm	BHS

Unfortunately, due to a low turnout, we won't be able to field a Boys Lacrosse tam this year.

Please email or call with any questions about the registration process and the upcoming season.

Progress Reports are now available for viewing on Web2School.   The grades on the progress report are being used to determine athletic eligibility, senior privilege eligibility and are being sent to colleges for seniors, upon request.
