Dear Parents
-- The community viewing of Screenagers has been postponed until next Monday night at 6pm and dinner served at 5:30. Your son or daughter, however, did have an opportunity to view the movie this morning.
The purpose of the film was to provoke thought as to how we all, adults and children can do a better job creating balance in our lives with the technology that is available to us. As we watched the film however, I was a bit surprised and disappointed by the apathy and insensitivity that many students showed towards some of the content in the film. This was a powerful reminder of how desensitized many of our children are and how important it is for us, as parents to address issues around technology in our homes.
I would like to strongly encourage you all to have a discussion with your son or daughter this evening and ask them what their thoughts were about the movie, including their thoughts about how some of the students responded to some of the disturbing content regardless of how they responded themselves.
