Fall Sports Information

Good Afternoon Parents,

My name is Paul Landau and I am the new Athletic Director here at Belmont High School. I wanted to send an email out to introduce myself and also get a few important pieces of information into your hands before fall sports kick off on August 13.

Please feel free to reach out to me via phone, email, or to set up a meeting in person if you have any questions about the information below or our athletics policies here at the high school.

1. Fall Sports Parent Night:
There will be a mandatory meeting for all parents or guardians of a BHS student-athlete on Tuesday, August 14 at 7:30 in the BHS gym. At least one parent or guardian is expected to attend along with their student-athlete. The meeting will provide you with a chance to meet me, our fall sports coaches, our new athletic trainer, and most importantly to hear about important policy guidelines and changes for the upcoming season.

Following the meeting with the AD, parents will break off to classrooms for a team meeting with their student-athlete's coach for the upcoming season. Coaches will use this time to go over team rules and expectations for the upcoming season and to answer more specific questions for their sport.

Both myself and the coaches will do our best to keep these meetings brief, but they provide an important opportunity for all of us to get information directly to parents and players and also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have before the season gets rolling.

2. Sports Registration:
All information regarding sports registration can be found on our athletics website, https://belmonthighschoolredraiders.bigteams.com/. The website has been updated with a bunch of new information like a game calendar, athletics announcements, and sports registration information.

Please pay close attention to the registration section, as student-athletes will not be allowed to participate in practices or tryouts unless all four components are met.

3. Tryout/ First Practice Times:

All times listed are for both JV and Varsity players unless otherwise specified.

4. ImPACT Test times:
As a part of the registration process, athletes must take an ImPact Test here at the high school to be eligible to try out for any team. ImPACT tests are good for 2 years, so unless your student-athlete is new to the district, they should be taking the test during their freshmen and junior years prior to the start of the season. Please refer to the table below for when your student-athlete can come to take the test at the high school. If you are not sure when your student-athlete last took the test, please reach out or have them come in and take it again. It is better to be safe so they are able to participate on August 13. Athletes can come for any one of the four time slots throughout the week that are set aside for their team.

Again, if you have any questions please reach out to me via email, phone, or in person with an appointment. I know this is a lot of information in one email but it is all extremely important for our upcoming season. I promise communications will (mostly) be more brief in the future.

Thank you and GO RED RAIDERS!
