From: Cayman Belyea <cbelyea@sau80.org>
Date: Thu, Oct 29, 2020 at 12:59 PM
Subject: Girls Soccer Game Today 10/29
To: Louise Pridham <lpridham@sau80.org>
Attention Families,
The girls varsity soccer playoff game today vs. Berlin will be streamed via https://www.nsnsports.net. If you go to the main page scroll down and you will see Belmont vs. Berlin. Just click on that and the video should load.
The game will begin at 3:00pm.
Here is a reminder of the protocols in place.
Outdoor Events
Visitors must self screen prior to coming to events (and be symptom free). Masks are required when entering and exiting the facility and during any transitions (such as using the portable bathrooms). Masks will also be required when you cannot achieve physical distancing (6 feet). Currently, we are limiting spectators to family members(Grand-Parents, Parents/Guardians, Siblings, Aunts/Uncles) and faculty/staff only. Spectators from the same household are excluded from the distancing requirements. At this time, no students will be allowed to attend events, unless they are both of the following 1. with a parent/guardian and 2. are a family member of an athlete.
Thank you all and good luck to our girls varsity soccer team today!
Mr. Cayman Belyea
Athletic Director

Important Belmont Athletics Update
Good Afternoon Belmont High School and Middle School Students and Parents,
As you are aware, both Belmont High School and Belmont Middle School have entered a period of remote learning beginning today, Tuesday, October 13th, through (at least) next Monday, October 19th. Since this closure is due to positive COVID cases and we are working with DHHS to determine the potential school-level impacts, we will continue to exercise caution. As a result, please know that we are suspending all sports (practices, games, meets, etc.) through October 19th (including Monday the 19th) while we monitor and evaluate the situation.
Please know that as the investigations continue, those deemed to have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive will be contacted by school personnel and/or DHHS workers.
We appreciate everyone's understanding during this time. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Mr. Cayman Belyea
Athletic Director

High Schools Athletics Information/Sign-Ups
Attention High School Student-Athletes and Families,
This email is in regards to preparing for the Fall 2020 season! These first two requirements must be met before trying out for any sport.
First is the new requirement/platform for athletic participation signups. This will allow for all student data to be in a protected place and will allow coaches to quickly access important information. This will include a student's Medical Release, Medical History, Emergency Contact Info, and both Student & Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement of the Athletics Handbook.
You can locate sign-ups by clicking here: Belmont Athletics
Attached below are helpful instructions for signing up.
Second is the concussion testing that must be completed every two years. If you did not complete Impact Testing last year, you are most likely due to do so. Please make sure to take the test prior to the start of the Fall Sports Season. This will make sure that you are prepared in regards to concussion testing. If you have any questions or aren't sure if you completed it last year, please reach out to cbelyea@sau80.org.
*Please remember to take this in a quiet place in your household with no distractions*
To access the concussion test, please visit https://www.impacttestonline.com/htmllauncher/ and enter the following Code: 7ed02ff074
We are also heading into Phase 2 of returning to athletics beginning on September 1st 2020.
There will also be additional information coming to you as we approach the beginning of the season regarding the requirements of students, coaching staff, and parents. Please remember that, given our unique circumstances, information will evolve throughout the season. Schedules should be coming out shortly as well.
We are working in the process of trying to finalize the schedule for the season at the moment so please disregard any old schedules out there. I will make sure that an email is sent out by either myself or coaches when those are completed.
The first official date to practice is September 8th, which means this will be the first date that tryouts could begin for your sport!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Crisis Counseling Opportunity Reminder - 7/27/20
7/27/2020
Dear Belmont Middle and High School Families,
The Shaker Regional School District Crisis Support Team would like to remind our school community of today's in-person student counseling services, being held at Belmont Middle School. As was communicated last Friday, our team is offering in-person counseling services for students wishing to participate today (July 27, 2020) from 1 pm to 6 pm. Completing the attached survey expresses your interest in participating in this opportunity and provides information to our Crisis Response Team that allows us to meet participants' needs.
If you plan to join us for this afternoon's student counseling, please utilize this form: Counseling Participation Form
Our school counselors and school psychologists will practice social distancing and will be wearing masks throughout these sessions. In order to ensure all attendees are safe and have the support they need, student participants are required to wear a mask/face covering. We will observe Covid-19 rules and guidelines, per the CDC.
Students will enter through the middle school's cafeteria doors and exit through a different set of doors in the front of the building. Students will check in with a district representative prior to entering. Additional staff will be on hand to help with traffic. Parents/Guardians are asked to remain in their vehicles until their student exits the middle school.
For guidance focused on supporting young people through this time, we invite you to review this resource: Helping Children Cope After a Traumatic Event.
Our thoughts are with each of you.
Thank you,
Your SRSD Crisis Response Team
