FBLA:

1. Autism Speaks - USD for ASD - The Future Business Leaders of America are kicking off an initiative to help increase awareness about autism this fall.  This effort will begin with a drive to collect change next week called "USD for ASD" (US dollars for Autism Spectrum Disorder).  Students are being asked to bring in change to donate to the Autism Speaks Foundation  through Tuesday, October 22nd.  Many of the BHS faculty have graciously agreed to participate in the drive for this important cause by agreeing to take a pie in the face if their class brings in $20 in donations over the course of the week-long drive ... a little incentive never hurt.  Teachers may be providing other incentives in lieu of the pie option as well.  In any case, we thank everyone in advance for helping us kick off this initiative.  We will present the donations to the Autism Speaks Foundation on Wednesday, October 23 at our annual Fall Leadership Workshop.  Four students at BHS and 22 district wide are affected by autism, so FBLA will also be providing information about autism throughout the fall in order to increase awareness in our local communities.
