Athletics:

Golf match away @ Waukewan Country Club 9:00AM- bus departs @ 7:30AM


Congratulations to freshman Nicole Antonucci for shooting a 49 and finishing third in the medal flight of the Girls State Championship at Scottish Highlands on Saturday.  Well done Nicole.  The team is at Waukewan today for the Inter-Lakes Classic.

 

Thank you so much to our wonderful helpers for contributing to such a great event Friday, the 'Jeri Blair' Belmont Cross-Country Invitational!  Especially to Danielle Rupp, Kelly Rolfe, Sharon and Ray Fernandez, Jeri Blair, and John Goegel.  Also staff members Ms. Anguin and Mrs. Bates, our Assistant Principal Mr. Acquilano, and our Athletic Director Mrs. Knolholff.   The racing, weather, and camaraderie were all marvelous!

Congrats to Carol Lipsultz, Sabrina Robinson, Kylie Donovan, Tyler Rolfe, Nikolai Fernandez, and Isaiah Knowlton for setting new pr's!

We're not peaking yet, but we're still seeing great growth each week.  Let's keep up the positive momentum and close the gap with Gilford next week!


BHS Holiday Fair :

 The 7th Annual BHS Holiday Fair hosted by  the Future Business Leaders of America will be held on Saturday, November 9th from 9am-3pm at Belmont High School.  Approximately 100 vendors will be offering handcrafted and holiday items for sale, several student groups will be selling breakfast, lunch, and snack items, and there will be a large raffle as well.  Proceeds from the event are used help students attend NH-FBLA business and leadership conferences and support local charities.  In addition, FBLA will be collecting donations for the Mix 94.1 Cash and Cans Drive.  Please come start your holiday shopping with us on November 9th!  Thank you for your support!

 

Drivers Education:

The fall session will begin on Oct 29th and will run until Jan. 2nd. You will need to be 16 by the end of the class. The cost of the class is $650 with a $150 deposit due when you sign up for the class with any remaining money due by the first day of class. Forms can be picked up in the main office.


Guidance Office:

1. Lakes Region Community College will be holding a fall Open House on Wednesday, October 9th from 5-7pm. This is a great opportunity for juniors and seniors to check out their more than 30 degree and certificate options at an affordable price. See attached flyer


2. Attention Juniors and Seniors: Northeastern University is holding their 2013 Women in Engineering Day on Friday, October 25th. This program is designed for female students who are interested in engineering and want to learn more about Northeastern's outstanding engineering program. To reserve a place, students should RSVP by emailing r.reisberg@neu.edu.  Space is very limited so reserve your spot early.

 

3. NHHEAF is offering a number of FREE college planning workshops and webinars at their Concord location. Registration is required to attend any of these events, you can do so atwww.nhheaf.org/events

Planning Workshops include:

The College Interview- focuses on interview skills  Monday, Oct.14 11-12:30pm

College Prep for Seniors- admissions and fin aid Monday, Oct. 14 3:30-5pm

Understanding the Common Application             Tuesday, Oct. 15 3:30-5pm

 

4. Juniors, Inter-Lakes High School is hosting a regional St. Paul's Advanced Studies Program Information Night for all interested juniors and parents/guardians.  This event will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Inter-Lakes High School Library at 6:30pm.Presented by Mike Ricard from ASP as well as several high school student ASP alumni.

 

5. Attention all juniors and interested sophomores: The PSAT will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 16th here at BHS starting at 7:30am. The cost for the test is $18.00, cash or checks made out to BHS will be accepted that day. The guidance department highly encourages all juniors to participate in this exam in preparation for the SAT's next spring and fall for all of our college bound students. Students are allowed to use calculators, but must supply their own. The sign up sheet for the PSAT is in the guidance office, make sure you sign up so that we can reserve a seat for you. Interested sophomores may participate, please sign up in the guidance office

 

Clubs:

Spanish Club:

Mrs. Conway won the 50/50 Spanish Club Homecoming raffle.  Thanks for your support to all our clubs and their fund raising endeavors.


Prom Committee:

 Meeting today @ 2:15 in room 208.


Robotics:

Meeting today @ 2:30PM in Rm. 209.

 

Yearbook:

 Is looking for students who attended last years prom who may have pictures that could be put in the yearbook. If so, come down to the office to pick up an information sheet.

 

FBLA:

1.  Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 9th at 2:20pm in Mr. Hill's room.  We will be establishing committees for the Holiday Fair and beginning that work, as well as discussing other upcoming events.  Please remember that your registration fee of $30 for the Fall Leadership Workshop (FLW) is past due and should be submitted to Mr. Hill ASAP.  If you missed last week's meeting, you will also need to see Mr. Hill for the FLW permission slip, which is due Friday, October 11th.  Thank you!

 

2. Anyone wishing to attend Digital Portsmouth: The Art of the Start Up on Tuesday, October 22nd (we will leave BHS at 3:45pm for 5:30pm start time) should see Mr. Hill to sign 


3.If you have not yet paid your dues ($20), please get them to Mr. Hill no later than Tuesday, October 15th.

4.Can tabs for David's House  can be turned in to any FBLA member or Mr. Hill.  Thank you! We will be collecting tabs all year long.
