Athletics:

BG Hockey vs Kennett @ Laconia Ice Arena 7:00PM

Nordic Skiing @ Gunstock 2:30PM – bus departs @ 1:10PM

 

Indoor Track:

Joseph Boles (2012-13 1000m indoor state champion) placed 1st in the 1500m at the first meet of the indoor track season held at Dartmouth College this past Saturday. His time (4:24.09) is the fastest in the New Hampshire Indoor T&F League after the first week of indoor competition and is a qualifying mark for the state indoor championship in February. Boles completed a unique double as he sprinted to a personal record of 7.19 in the 55m. Bobby Blais (42.60, 300m), Kyle Patten (41.30, 300m) and Michael Sanborn (28' 5.25", shot put) also set personal records. 

 

Friends of Belmont Football:

Will be selling Christmas Trees at the Gates Farm just North of town of Rt. 106. (Just before Country Kitchen Breads, and Pike Industries on right). Hours are 11-7 on weekends and 4-7 on weeknights.  We would like to help many Belmont residents pick out the perfect tree! Thank You and Merry Christmas!


 

Drivers Education:

* Drivers Ed tonight and tomorrow night at 6:00PM.

 

The winter session of Driver's Ed will start on January 7th. The mandatory student/parent meeting will be held on January 6th @ 6:00PM. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00-8:00PM. If you are interested in registering you can pick up a registration packet in the main office. Please note you will need to be 16 by Feb 20th. Cost is $650 with a $150 deposit due when you sign up with remaining balance due by the first night of class.

 

Class of 2015:
The date for the  Junior Prom has been set for Saturday, May 31, 2014 and it will be held at Gunstock Mountain Resort.

 

Guidance Office:

Attention Students!  One of our seniors has created a survey about steroids for his senior project and would like all BHS students to help him by participating and answering his questions. It's totally anonymous, but he would like your honest answers. You can access the survey at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VKK97XB.  Thanks for your help!


Reminder to all seniors to let Mrs. O'Connell know of all your college acceptances so that guidance can track your success.

NHHEAF Network is offering FREE College Planning Webinars for students and parents. The first one will be held on Thursday, 1/2/14 from 6:15-7:15pm. This presentation will navigate families through the financial aid process. The second one will be held on Tuesday 2/11/14 from 6:15-7:15pm. BHS PTO:

There will be NO PTO meeting for the month of December.  Please come join us in January as we kick off a new year.  Our next meeting is January 16th at 6:00 pm in the Guidance Office.  No obligations. Just come to hear about what is going on at BHS in the upcoming months!

 

Clubs:

French Club:

Will be meeting today after school in room 103 for our annual Chocolate making.

 

All Things Graphic:

Meeting cancelled for today.

 

Granite State Challenge:

Meeting today @ 2:15PM in Rm. 216


FBLA:

1.Our holiday celebration will be tomorrow after school in Mr. Hill's room.  Please remember to bring the snacks you signed up to bring.  Anyone who is not bringing a snack, please consider bringing $5 to help with the pizza.  And remember, you all should be performing at least one random act of kindness this week for someone.  Happy Holidays!

 

2. Can tabs for David's House can be turned in to any FBLA member or Mr. Hill. Thank you! We will be collecting tabs all year long.


 

National Honor Society:

Is holding a clothing drive and is asking for donations of old coats, mittens, scarves, etc. Items can be dropped off in the main office or in Rm. 204

 

Class of 2014:

The senior class is offering chances to win a 50" flat screen TV. Tickets are $5.00 and can either be purchased by seeing Mr. Deshaies or any senior selling tickets. Please note you will be able to purchase tickets all next week during lunches. Tickets will be sold until today.  The TV will be on display in the main office.

 

Student Council:

 Annual can drive will end today. Cans will be collected during Block 4.

 

Spanish Club:

Due to Mrs. Hampton being out this week the raffle tickets for Spanish Club can not be drawn during Friday's holiday assembly. She is truly sorry if any of the items were meant as holiday gifts.
