PARENTS

Shaker Regional School District Survey

The Shaker Regional School Board is interested in receiving your input on how the district is performing and to determine potential areas for improvement.  Your responses to the survey, being conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, will be kept anonymous and the data will be reported only to the School Board in the aggregate.  If you decide to participate, you may decline to answer any question.  The following link can be accessed through any device with internet access.  The survey will be available through midnight, TONIGHT.

REMINDER:  WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF STUDENTS' PARENT/GUARDIAN PERMISSION SLIPS FOR VIDEO AND AUDIO RECORDING IN CLASSROOMS.  PLEASE BRING SIGNED PERMISSION SLIPS TO THE OFFICE ASAP.

 

 

Athletics:  

 

FRIENDS OF BELMONT FOOTBALL is holding their Annual Christmas Tree Sale at the old Gates Farm on Rt. 106 (just a few doors away from Pike). There are beautiful NH grown trees of all sizes available. You can also pick up your NH made birdseed wreath at the same time. The sale will be open Monday - Friday from about 4:30 - 7:00pm; and on the weekends from about 10:00 am - 7:00pm. Please feel free to check the Friends of Belmont Football Facebook page for any weather-related closings. We look forward to seeing you!

 

HOLIDAY CABARET:  Please join the members of the BHS Band for our fourth annual Holiday Cabaret!  Come listen to some holiday tunes while enjoying seasonal goodies at 6:00 in the cafeteria on Friday, December 11th.  Admission is $5.00 per person and includes all you can eat treats and beverages.  We hope to see you there!

STUDENT COUNCILThere is a MANDATORY student council meeting TODAY AFTER SCHOOL at 2:30 p.m.

We will have a brief meeting on Friday, December 11 at 10:30 in room 205.  We will talk about a fund raiser and our lunch for Noel.

ATTENTION SENIORS

 

The guidance department has started to receive scholarship opportunities for you to apply to. The complete listing is in the guidance office and will be updated frequently, it is your responsibility to check it often!! For current seniors, we encourage them to join the day's festivities by giving our keynote speech! Our winning Destination College speechwriter will win a $1000 scholarship!  The web form for entry can be found at http://www.nhheaf.org/index.asp?page=events_dc_speechAll entries are due February 26, 2016

 

Destination College, NHEEAF's college planning convention for high school juniors and families, takes place on Saturday, April 2 at Southern New Hampshire University.  This free event features college admissions and financial aid workshops for both students and parents throughout the morning and ends with a college fair (with an expected 70 colleges in attendance!).

As a reminder, the Destination College Speech Contest is also open for high school seniors.   The winning student will share their essay at Destination College with attendees – and win a $1000 scholarship!  Submissions are due Friday, 2/26/16.   We have recently received our first entry!  For more information, click here.

The University of Maine has launched our new scholarship program! Students from your area are eligible for our UMaine Flagship Match Award. This award is a competitive scholarship program that guarantees academically qualified, first-year students from New Hampshire to pay the same tuition and fee rate as the University of New Hampshire. The guidelines are as follows:

·  Students will be awarded based on the combination of their Academic Tier and Residency.

·  To qualify for a Flagship Match Award students must submit their admissions application by February 1.

·  No FAFSA is required to receive the Flagship Match Award, but students must file a FAFSA by March 1 in order to be considered for federal need-based aid.

·  Students who qualify for the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) regional student program are not eligible for the Flagship Match Award.
