HERE'S WHAT'S NEW:
College Acceptances: Congratulations to Carol Lipshultz on her acceptances to St. Michael's College, Earlham and
Rhodes!! Also, congratulations to Emily Ashey on her acceptance to Franklin Pierce and to Jacob Whitcomb on his
acceptance to Keene State College
Belmont Ski Team: Great job by the BHS Ski Team at Friday's Division III State Championships. The boys had a
huge day and finished third overall for Division III, just missing the runner up plaque! The girl's team finished
eleventh overall. Individually, two athletes qualified for the Meet of Champions. Sophomore Abby Camire and
freshman Nolan Gagnon will represent BHS at Cannon Mountain in the MOC on March 1st.
Seniors: Seniors, we have 22 scholarship opportunities in the guidance office. You can check them out and apply for
most of them through the guidance scholarship website at
https://sites.google.com/site/belmonthighguidance/scholarships. WATCH your DEADLINES!! Most will have deadlines
that expire by the end of April. Make good use of your vacation week and work on getting some FREE MONEY!!!!! for
college.
Seniors: The Senior T-Shirt Design has been selected, and orders are being taken this week. Please get them
back to Emily Ennis or Mrs. Pitrone by Friday, February 19th. In addition, everyone should have seen Emily to sign
the back of the shirt already. If you have not, please make sure you do so Wednesday (today) during Power Hour,
as that needs to be sent to print. The order form is attached. Payment is due with your order now please. Cash or
checks payable to BHS.
Junior Ladies: Attention ladies of the junior class. The American Legion Auxiliary Dept. of NH will be holding their
72nd session of Granite Girls State from June 26th-July 1st, 2016, at St. Anselm;s College in Manchester, NH. This is
an affordable educational program for girls completing their junior year of high school. The only cost is a non-refundable
$50.00 application fee. For an application and more details on this program see guidance or the guidance website at
Robotics: Congratulations to the Robotics Team for their great performances the last two weekends. A strong
showing at both Winnicunnet High School and Rivendell Academy the past two weekends has earned both BHS
robot teams a place at the VEX State Championship for the first time in five years. Please come show your support
at NHTI this Saturday beginning at 9:00am! Good luck, Robo Raiders.
BHS PTO: BHS PTO will hold their February meeting on Thursday, February 18th at 6 pm in the Guidance Office
conference room. They will be discussing plans for their It Takes a Village March event and ideas for funding any
programs or items for BHS. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Donna Iacopucci
Students: Running Start forms and payments are due to Ms. Haubrich TODAY.
Any student in grades 10-12 who are interested in the Winnisquam Agricultural Center Programs and would like to go on a
tour, please sign up in the guidance office by this Friday.
Yearbook: Baby Pictures for the Yearbook AND the Senior Slideshow are due by Friday, February 19. Please
submit them to Mrs. Hamilton, either electronically (khamilton@sau80.org) or hard copy (Room 210). Please label all
submissions with student's name.
Freshman: Freshman Lip Sync is TODAY after school in room 207.

Food Service Worker - Immediate Opening - 9 AM - 2 PM
Great Mother's Hours
Shaker Regional Food Service is seeking a Food Service Worker for Belmont Middle School. Successful candidate
must be able to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment. Prior experience in food service industry a plus
but not necessary.
Applications may be found on the Shaker Regional School District website or can be picked up at the SAU Office

ATTENTION SENIORS:
Seniors, scholarships are arriving in the guidance office almost daily! Many new ones include Skrungloo Farm, Hood Good
Sportsmanship, New England Newspapers (Journalism scholarship), Maurice Fortin Memorial, Nursing Schools Alamanc
and Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation!! These scholarships are TIME SENSITIVE!! Please check the guidance website

this time.
Guidance:
On March 8th, BHS will host a Winnipesaukee Muskrats DAY! Students interested in a summer internship with
them will be able to sign up and learn more about the various career related opportunities.
LRCC Application DAYS – February 11th & March 24th
SENIORS…Please stop by the School Counseling Office on 3/24 to learn more about post-secondary options at
Lakes Region Community College! Application assistance will be available as well as assistance with program
selection! Sign up today!
Summer College Sessions and Camp Opportunities are now being offered to high school students. If you are
interested in learning more about them, stop by the School Counseling Office to pick up flyers and
brochures. Some opportunities have a March application deadline – so act fast!
Destination College: Just a reminder our Destination College Speech Contest is now open, and entries are due
Friday, February 26th. High school seniors are encouraged to submit a 3 to 5 minute speech about his or her path
to college and navigating the college admissions process. The winner will win a $1,000 scholarship and will deliver
our keynote address at the 17th Annual Destination College event on Saturday, 4/2/16 at Southern New Hampshire
University.
To learn more and to submit a speech for consideration, please have your students visit
