**Congratulations to the Baseball & Softball teams for spectacular come from behind wins yesterday..**

 

The softball team won an exciting one yesterday 4-3 to advance to the quarter finals Monday in White Mountain. Megan Prescott pitched a complete game for the win. Jordan Lavallee supplied the power going 3-4 to include the winning hit in the bottom of the 7th inning. Shannon Davies has renamed herself David, hit another home run to start the scoring for Belmont in the fourth inning. The team played great defense to keep it close.

Parents: Last day of school for freshman, sophomore & juniors is June 14th with a dismissal time of 12:00pm.

Message from Sean Embree(School board Chairperson)

The Shaker Regional School Board would like to thank Richy Bryant for his dedicated service to the Shaker Regional School District over the past 5 years.  With the vacant position, the School Board is seeking resumes and letters of interest from registered voters in the Town of Belmont who are interested in serving on the Board.  This appointed position will serve from date of appointment by the Board until the next school election in March 2017.  All interested persons should submit a resume and letter of interest to Shaker Regional School District; Sean Embree, Chair; 58 School Street; Belmont, NH 03220.  The deadline for submission is June 9, 2016.

 

 

 

Message from Mr. Russell:

Seniors: All materials are due TODAY.  27 Seniors still owe me one or more items.  Please don't make me hunt you down.

Underclassmen: All materials are due back on Thursday, June 9th.  This means I'm expecting 110 books to be returned in the next seven days.  Remember to check in with Mr. Russell if you're not sure what materials you may have outstanding or if you need books for a project that won't be completed until Finals.

 

National Honor Society members will have a rehearsal for the hooding ceremony this TODAY in the gym at 10:20.

 

2016 Graduates:

Please save any files from your network drive that you wish to keep. All class of 2016 network drives will be permanently deleted after July 31st 2016.

Just a reminder that your school Google account will remain active until October 1, 2016.

Robotics Club:

There will be a student/parent meeting for current and interested Robotics team members on Wednesday, June 8 at 6pm. Please attend if you or your student is interested in joining the Robotics Team and want more information. All current team members and his/her parents should attend if possible. Belmont High School will be hosting a regional tournament in the Fall and the planning process has begun. Please contact Mr. Deshaies for more information at adeshaies@sau80.org.

BHS Drama: BHS Drama presents A Midsummer's Night's Dream on June 2nd through June 4th. Performances will be June 2nd and June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. and June 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Belmont High School. The cost for the event is $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults. Please see the attached flyer.

 

The 2016 fall drama production is going to be a series of one-act, student directed plays!  You will have an opportunity to choose one of David Ives' short play collection, All in the Timing.  Any students interested in directing in the fall should come and see Ms. Pitrone in room 214 to get an application.  These applications are due no later than Wednesday, June 8th.

                                                     GUIDANCE NEWS

 

Mrs. O'Connell needs student volunteers to hand out programs for class night and graduation. If you are able to help, please see her in guidance. Your hours would count as community service.

 

1. Bishop Brady High School is offering a summer SAT prep program. July 11-28, Monday thru Thursday, no Friday classes. Morning session 9am-noon, evening session 5:30-8:30pm at Bishop Brady High School. Cost is $375.00 which includes all materials and refreshments during break. Student should select either morning or evening session. Checks payable to Bishop Brady High School with registration form. Registration forms are available in the guidance office. Course will include a full length practice test and a review session to be held at 4pm on Sept. 18th prior to fall test dates. Space is limited!! Registration and payment are due byJune 22nd. 

 

2.  The Shaker Regional Custodial department is hiring summer help for housekeeping and grounds. You must be at least 16 years old for housekeeping and 18 years old for grounds keeping. People needed in all four of our schools.  See Mrs. O'Connell for an application.
