FOCUS GROUP FOR SUPERINTENDENT

Please join us for a parent/community focus group where we hope to get information about what you most want to see in the next superintendent of Shaker Regional School District. As we search for the best candidate for this position, it is crucial that we get as much information from as many of you as possible. In conjunction with the New Hampshire School Boards Association, we invite you to attend this session on 9/21/2016 @ 5:15PM in the High School Library. Though all information and feedback is welcome, the focus group will concentrate on four main questions:

1.   What are your specific priorities for the next superintendent of SAU 80?

2.   What professional experiences or backgrounds should the next superintendent of SAU 80 have?

3.   What personal leadership styles or personal attributes should the new superintendent of SAU 80 have?

4.   Are there any specific attributes/characteristics or experiences you feel would not be the correct fit for SAU 80?

We look forward to seeing you there!

Any students interested in attending the NH Educational Theatre Guild fall workshops at Plymouth State University on October 14th should please see Ms. Pitrone by the end of the week and sign up to attend.  Payment and forms must be in by Wednesday, September 28th to register.  See Ms. Pitrone with any questions.

The Shaker Regional School District, serving the towns of Belmont and Canterbury, NH, has begun the process of a search for their new superintendent. Last year, the Shaker Board made the decision to hire an interim superintendent, Michael Tursi, for the 16-17 school year, and then begin a complete search this fall. The selected candidate from this search will begin on July 1, 2017.

As part of the process, the Board has created a search committee made up of representatives fromadministrators, teachers, parents, support staff, community members, and central office staff in order to make sure all perspectives are taken into account. In addition, there will be four focus groups—one held at each school--open to all Belmont and Canterbury residents, in order gain feedback about what the needs are for Shaker's permanent superintendent. The dates for these are:

  Belmont Elementary School: September 22, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.

  Belmont High School: September 21, 2016 at 5:15 p.m.

Please be sure copy and paste the link into search engine.

If for any reason you cannot make it to a focus group in person, the Board has also created an online survey where you are encouraged to give your input. You can reach this survey through the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SRSD80

The Shaker Regional School Board is excited about hearing from as many voices as possible, and seeks to find the best fit for this important position for our schools and communities.
