RE-SCHEDULE OF SENIOR CLASS TRIP APRIL 20, 2017-APRIL 24,2017

BHS Competency-Based Teaching & Learning:

Please join Mr. Williams on Wednesday April 19, 2017 6:00PM in the BHS Café.

Mr. Williams will present Competency Based Teaching and Learning at BHS with members of the Shaker Regional Community.  All parents and community members are invited to attend.  This informative meeting will convey significant information about Competency-Based grading practices that will be used at the high school.

The last day of school for students will be June 16th.  In order to make up for some of the snow days, we are extending the school day by 20 minutes starting May 1st and ending on May 24th. The teacher workshop day that was planned for May 12th will now be a regular school day.

In summary, for students:

May 1st - 24th - school day is extended by 20 minutes. Dismissal will be 20 minutes after regularly scheduled time.

May 12th - regular school day for students

June 16th - last school day for students

Thank you for your patience as we worked to finalized the end of the year.

*    Parents:  As the weather gets warmer please be mindful of our dress code

PTO NEWS:

BHS PTO has rescheduled their April 20th meeting to Tuesday April 18th in the BHS Guidance Conference Room at 6 pm.

The Belmont High School PTO is looking for a few volunteers to ensure the continuation of the organization.  All current officers are parents of graduating seniors and will be leaving the organization in June.  They have worked hard over the last four years to re-establish this vital group and are hoping that a few parents step up to take over the leadership.  It took almost an entire year and hundreds of dollars to file all of the paperwork and collaborate with a law firm to establish the BHS PTO.  It would be a shame to lose what they have started. If you have questions, if you are interested, or if you would like to nominate someone, please contact Donna Iacopucci, President, at donnaike@metrocast.net or 528-2601.
