Athletics:

No games scheduled today

 

Guidance:

Congratulations to Nicole Derosia on her acceptance to Elmira and The University of New England,  to Devon Kenny on his acceptance to Drew University ,  to Steven Farkas on his acceptance to Colby Sawyer College and  to Jeremy D'Amour on his acceptances to Lyndon State and the University of New England.

 

*NASA opportunity for FEMALE High School JUNIORS.  Women in STEM High School Aerospace Scholars is an interactive on-line science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning experience for female high school juniors from across the US, culminating in a one-week residential experience at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. Offered at no cost to the student! WISH consists of 8 online modules and a final project from January 2013 through May 2013 under the guidance of certified educators. Based on their success in the online coursework, students may be selected to attend a week-long summer experience where they will interact with NASA scientists, engineers and technologists to design a human mission to Mars. Interested junior female students can obtain additional information and apply on line at www.wish.aerospacescholars.org. The deadline for the application and all supporting documentation is midnight, central time, January 3, 2013.

 

*A representative from the US Army has scheduled a visit for Thursday, December 13th at 10AM. Interest Juniors and Seniors should sign up in the guidance office to attend. 

 

Drivers Education:

The next Drivers Ed class will begin on January 8th and will run until Feb. 21st. You must be 16 by the last class. Classes are each Tues. & Thurs. from 6:00-8:00PM. If you are interested in signing up please pick up a form in the main office. Please note a deposit of $150 is due when you pass in your paperwork.

 

School Wide Assembly:

Will be held tomorrow at 8:00AM. This assembly will be presented by the Belmont Police Dept. and will focused on cyberbullying.

 

Clubs:

Poetry Club:

Meeting today at 2:15PM in Rm 212.

 

 

*Student Council:

*Will be holding a non-perishable food drive starting today thru Friday. The top three classes will receive prizes from Dunkin Donuts.

 

Holiday T-shirts:

The Student Council is selling holiday t-shirts for $10. If you are interested in preordering, please see either Austin Wilder or Mr. Bourque. You will need to provide them with your name, tshirt size and your $10. Deadline to place your order is Friday, Dec. 14th.

 

Band & Chorus:

Will be holding their Holiday Concert @ BHS on Wed. Dec 12th @ 7:00PM. Flower grams will be available for purchase at the concert, made possible by Prescott's Florist


Drama:

Ms. Fair needs Librettos / Scripts / Music back from the musical or students who have not returned theirs owe $25!  

 

*Drama Club will meet each Wednesday from 2:30-3:45 in Room 206. First meeting will be held on Dec 12th.

 

Class of 2015:

DJ Derrick returns for the Holly Ball dance on Friday Dec 14th from 8:00-10:30PM. Admission is $6.00 per person or $5.00 with a donation of a canned good. If you are planning on bringing a guest who does not go to BHS you will need to pick up a permission form which is  available for pick up in the main office.


FBLA:

* Our last meeting of 2012 will be our Holiday Celebration on Wednesday, December 19th at 2:30pm in Mr. Hill's room.  I hope you all can make it!

 

Can tabs - FBLA will be collecting can tabs throughout the year for David's House.  Students are asking families to set up a collection bag or box at home and periodically bring them in.  The can tabs will be delivered to David's House at the end of March.  Thank you for supporting this great cause!

 

Spanish Club Fundraising:

The Spanish Club is taking orders for Christmas dessert pies. Orders need to be placed by Dec 14th and will be available for pick up in Rm 105 on Dec 21st. If interested email ennisfamily@comcast.net
