Athletics:

Boys Baseball Practice Wk 4/7

Today :  JV 5:00-6:30 Varsity 6:00-7:30

Tomorrow:  JV 2:30-4:00 Varsity 3:30-5:00- Parent Mtg. 5:00PM Location TBD.

Thurs: JV 5:30-7:00 Varsity 7:00-8:30

Fri JV 4:00-5:45 Varsity Scrimmage vs Pittsfield 4:00PM – in the event of a cancellation practice will be 5:15-7:00

Saturday Varsity Scrimmage vs Campbell 8:30AM- in the event of a cancellation practice will be 11:00-12:00

 

Girls Softball:

Boys Lacrosse: 

It’s not too late to join t he boys Lacrosse team. There are still openings on the team for those who would like to join. We currently have two scholarships available. Equipment  assistance is also available. Contact Colin Shaw or Andrew Spaulding or see Coach Premo.


Red Raider Golf Tournament:

BHS will be hosting the 1st Annual Red Raider Golf Tournament on Friday June 27th at Loudon Country Club. If you would like more info please pick up an informational sheet with details.

 

Junior Prom:

The class of 2015 will start selling tickets in the lobby tomorrow for prom at Gunstock on Saturday, May 31st. The tickets are $45 each

 

Student Council:

The Belmont High School Student Council is hosting a Community Forum to discuss the current high school mascot. The forum will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Belmont High School.  The forum is open to students, parents, alumni and community members residing in Belmont and Canterbury.

Please plan to come and voice your opinions on this topic.

 

 

Belmont High School Language Clubs travel fundraiser:

Return performance to start our spring break. Magician Ben Pratt  performing  at BES, 7PM, Friday, April 18th, $7 students, $10 adults. You can see or email Ms. Hampton @ shampton@sau80.org or see a French or Spanish Club student to reserve your ticket.

 

 

Drivers Education:

The next session of driver’s education starts on May 6th. If you are interested in signing up for this class a form can be picked up in the main office. Please note you will need to be 16 by June 19th.

 


Guidance:

1. Seniors: There are many scholarship opportunities in the guidance office. Deadlines are as follows:  Franklin Savings Bank 4/11, Lakes Region Scholarship along with John Mullen due  4/15 and many others. Don't miss these opportunities to help fund your college tuition

 

2. Lakes Region Community College:

·         Will be offering  a Summer Scholars program again this year. With the help and generosity of LRGHealthcare they will be providing a FREE college Anatomy & Physiology I course to a select group of high school students. This class offers a very challenging and stimulating summer experience. This course will allow student to earn 4 college credits which are transferable to UNH, PSU, Keene and other colleges and universities. Students who complete Anatomy & Physiology have a significant advantage when applying for selective college program such as nursing.  Only 2 students can be chosen from BHS to attend this free summer course. The classes will run over a 7 week period from June 24th to August 7th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am -2:55pm. This is a major academic and time commitment! Only serious student should apply. Students applying must have had biology and algebra I. Applications available in guidance office. Deadline to apply is today.

 

·         Juniors and Seniors, Lakes Region Community College will be holding an Open House on Saturday, April 12th from 9-12pm. Any student who applies while they are attending the open house will receive a fee waiver to cover the cost of the application fee.  LRCC offers more than 30 degree and certificate options to explore. Programs include Liberal Arts, Energy Services, Restaurant Management, Fire Science, Marine Services, Business, Computers, Graphic Design, Nursing, Media Arts and MORE!

 

2.Faith, Hope and Love Foundation:

Attention Ladies:  Going to Prom?  Need a FREE Prom Dress?  The Faith, Hope, and Love Foundation will be offering FREE Prom Dresses to any high school aged girl in NH (no questions asked) on Saturday April 12th at the Meredith Bay Colony Club from 1-4 PM.  This event is one day only and is a first come first serve event. Have a dress you want to donate?  You can drop dresses off at Sundays Salon and Spa in downtown Laconia by April 10th!

 

Clubs:

FBLA:

Our next meeting will be tomorrow  @  2:20pm in Mr. Hill's room.


Can Tabs - FBLA will continue to collect can tabs all year for David's House, which is on the campus of the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD).  The house provides a place for families who live far away or cannot afford hotels to stay while their children undergo treatment at CHaD.  More information about the house can be found at www.davids-house.org.  BHS-FBLA sent 33.5 pounds of can tabs earlier this month.  Thank you to the many people who are supporting this great cause!

 


Chess Club:

Meets today @ 2:30PM in Rm 209.


All Things Graphic:

Meets tomorrow @ 2:15PM in Rm 106.
