CONGRATULATIONS to Brandon Sheppard for earning 2nd place in the Annalee Thorndike Scholarship Competition, to Holly Smith on her 3rd place finish and Alyssa Woods on her 4th place finish.

 

Athletics:

Boys Baseball Practice Wk 4/7

Today:  JV 4:00-5:45 Varsity Scrimmage vs Pittsfield 4:00PM – in the event of a cancellation practice will be 5:15-7:00

Tomorrow : Varsity Scrimmage vs Campbell 10:00AM- bus departs @  8:30AM- in the event of a cancellation practice will be 11:00-12:00

 

Girls Softball:

Wanted! Scorekeeper/Manager.  If interested please see Megan Bailey, Cassie Contigiani or email Coach  Clary @ wclary@icloud.com

 

Saturday: Softball @ Raymond 1:00PM- bus departs @ 10:25AM


Boys Lacrosse: 

It’s not too late to join t he boys Lacrosse team. There are still openings on the team for those who would like to join. We currently have two scholarships available. Equipment  assistance is also available. Contact Colin Shaw, Andrew Spaulding or see Coach Premo.


Red Raider Golf Tournament:

BHS will be hosting the 1st Annual Red Raider Golf Tournament on Friday June 27th at Loudon Country Club. If you would like more info please pick up an informational sheet with details.

 

BHS Broadcasting:

Belmont Broadcast (Block 3, Week 4) is now available on our website https://sites.google.com/site/bhsbroadcast/


Seniors:

Order forms are now available for seniors to order senior hoodies. See Courtney Pelletier, Ms.Harper, or Ashley Hicks for an order form. The deadline for ordering is April 18. A $5.00  deposit is needed with remaining  money due when shirts are in. Please return your payment with the order form to Ms. Harper in the computer lab.

 

Spanish Club:

Spanish club members, please check in with señora during break or after school today.

 

Junior Prom:

The class of 2015 will start selling tickets in the lobby  for prom @ Gunstock on Saturday, May 31st. The tickets are $45 each. If you are planning on bringing a guest who does not attend BHS you will need to fill out  a guest permission form which are available in the main office. This form needs to be signed by a parent.

 

Student Council:

The Belmont High School Student Council is hosting a Community Forum to discuss the current high school mascot. The forum will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Belmont High School.  The forum is open to students, parents, alumni and community members residing in Belmont and Canterbury.

Please plan to come and voice your opinions on this topic.

 

Belmont High School Language Clubs travel fundraiser:

Return performance to start our spring break. Magician Ben Pratt  performing  at BES, 7PM, Friday, April 18th, $7 students, $10 adults. You can see or email Ms. Hampton @ shampton@sau80.org or see a French or Spanish Club student to reserve your ticket.


Drivers Education:

Today is the last day to register for the May 6th class.


Guidance:

1. Seniors: There are many scholarship opportunities in the guidance office. Deadlines are as follows:  Franklin Savings Bank TODAY- please pass in to Mrs. O”Connell by the end of the day , Lakes Region Scholarship along with John Mullen due  4/15 and many others. Don't miss these opportunities to help fund your college tuition


2. Lakes Region Community College:

·         Juniors and Seniors, Lakes Region Community College will be holding an Open House tomorrow  from 9-12pm. Any student who applies while they are attending the open house will receive a fee waiver to cover the cost of the application fee.  LRCC offers more than 30 degree and certificate options to explore. Programs include Liberal Arts, Energy Services, Restaurant Management, Fire Science, Marine Services, Business, Computers, Graphic Design, Nursing, Media Arts and MORE!

 

2.Faith, Hope and Love Foundation:

Attention Ladies:  Going to Prom?  Need a FREE Prom Dress?  The Faith, Hope, and Love Foundation will be offering FREE Prom Dresses to any high school aged girl in NH (no questions asked) on Saturday April 12th at the Meredith Bay Colony Club from 1-4 PM.  This event is one day only and is a first come first serve event. Have a dress you want to donate?  You can drop dresses off at Sundays Salon and Spa in downtown Laconia by April 10th!

 

Career Corner:

Attention students looking for employment or a place to volunteer this summer...please look at the Guidance Bulletin Board for up-to-date postings!

 

Clubs:

FBLA:

 FBLA will continue to collect can tabs all year for David's House.

 

BMS PTO:

 Is seeking a DJ for their Father Daughter Dance on Friday May 9thfrom 6-8pm. Contact Kelly Smart at kelsmart@metrocast.net or 527-8898.

 

Robotics:

Meets Monday @ 2:30PM in Rm 209.
