College Acceptances:

Congratulations to Alex Luger on her acceptance to Elmira College, to Colton Cadarette on his acceptance to Lasell College and  to Chayleigh Cadarette on her acceptance to Coastal Carolina University.


Athletics:    

Unified Basketball:

Is starting Dec.9th. There is a sign up sheet outside of the gym for anyone interested or you can see Mr. Briggs in Rm 103 for more details.

 

Indoor Track & Field:

Practice begins promptly at 2:30 in the caf. Mr. Goegel and Mr. Clark look forward to seeing you dressed and ready to go on time.Please give Mr. Clark paperwork today.


Booster Club:

Meets tomorrow night @ 6:30PM in cafe.

 

 

Drivers Education:

The next driver's ed. Class starts on January 6th and will run until Feb 19th. Please note you must be 16 by the end of the class. Parents meeting will be on Monday Jan. 5th. If you are interested in signing up please come to the main office for a form. The deposit of $150 is due when you sign up with the remaining $500 by the first day of the class.


Meredith Village Savings Bank Art Grant Competition

Thank you to all who have voted and had your friends and family vote for Belmont High School.  The Facebook contest has ramped up with Belmont and Gilford in neck to neck competition. Belmont High School Store:

BHS is opening a student run school store. The store will open for business on Wed. Dec 3rd during power hour in the front lobby. If you are interested in helping out please see Mrs. O'Connor in Rm. 102.


 

Help for the Holidays

The Loudon Food Pantry serves residents of Belmont and Canterbury. For more information please contact them at 724-9731 or visit their website @ www.loudonfoodpantry.org


The Belmont Police Department's "Santa's Little Helper's" Program is available to Belmont families in need of gifts of clothing and toys for children under age 16.  Forms are available at the Belmont Police Department until December 12th. Proof of residency must be provided when you apply. If you have any questions please call Officer Joe Marcello at 267-8350.   

 

Saint Vincent de Paul Children's Foundation in Laconia provides clothing, socks, underwear and personal hygiene items for infants through age 18. Applications are being taken and filled at SVDP on Tuesday Dec 9th &  16th from 4:30-7 pm, and Saturdays Dec 6 and 13 from 10 am-2 pm. Please call 524-5470 for more information.

 

These wonderful organizations are always in need of donations so if you are looking for a way to give back to the community and help make a child's Holiday a little merrier, please consider donating.

 

 

Guidance:

Financial Aid Night:

Reminder to all juniors, seniors and their parents that Financial Aid Night will take place this Wednesday, 12/3/14 at 6:30pm in the BHS cafeteria. College bound students and parents are encouraged to attend to get answers to their financial aid questions and information about the FAFSA, the federal student aid form for all seniors who are college bound. 

 

Term 1 Incompletes:

Reminder to all students who have an Incomplete in term 1 that this Friday, 12/5 is the last day to have that grade completed.


National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine:

Students in grades 9-12 who are interested in receiving more information about the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine should see Mrs. O'Connell in the guidance office no later than December 3rd. This forum on medicine is designed for the most highly motivated high school students who possess the academic promise and dedication to become the next generation of leaders in medicine.


School-to-Career with Ms. Burke

During POWER HOUR on December 4th, Meet & Greet with Neal Laurenza, Video Game Developer & Co-Founder of Skymap Games located in Nashua, NH!  This will take place in the BHS Guidance Conference Room!  Sign up with Mrs. Burke in Guidance to reserve your spot.  Lunch will be provided.

Class of 2017 Fundraiser:

Calendar Raffle Tickets for the month of December are available from the Class of 2017. Sophomores who would like to sell tickets to raise money for their future activities can see Mr. Geoffrey to get tickets. All Tickets and Money need to be returned to Mr. Geoffrey by today. Tickets are $5 each and are good for the 31 days of drawings in December. Please bring in your sold calendars as well as the money and give to Mr. Geoffrey.
