College Acceptances:

Congratulations to Jackelyn Robarge on her acceptance to Rivier College! Congratulations to Taylor Becker on her acceptances to New England College, Bay Path University, Rivier University, Lasell College, University of Maine @ Presque Isle and to Nikolia Fernandez on his acceptance to Elmira College.

 

Congratulations to Travis Byers for completing all the requirements to be accepted into the United States Army.

 

Athletics:  

Girls JV Basketball Scrimmage @ Prospect Mtn @ 4:30

Girls Varsity Basketball Scrimmage @ Prospect Mtn @ 6:00

  

Unified Basketball:

Is starting Dec.9^th. There is a sign up sheet outside of the gym for anyone interested or you can see Mr. Briggs in Rm 103 for more details.

 

Boys Lacrosse:

Go-Pro Camera Raffle sponsored by the Belmont Boys Lacrosse Team.  Raffle winner will receive a Go-Pro Hero 3 White Edition and a 16gb memory card. Retail Value $225. Booster Club:

Meets tonight @ 6:30PM in cafe.

 

Drivers Education:

The next driver's ed. Class starts on January 6^th and will run until Feb 19^th. Please note you must be 16 by the end of the class. Parents meeting will be on Monday Jan. 5^th. If you are interested in signing up please come to the main office for a form. The deposit of $150 is due when you sign up with the remaining $500 by the first day of the class.

Meredith Village Savings Bank Art Grant Competition

The Facebook contest is still in full swing and our #1 competitor continues to be Gilford.  Thank you to all who have voted. Belmont High School Store:

BHS is opening a student run school store. The store will open for business tomorrow during power hour in the front lobby. If you are interested in helping out please see Mrs. O'Connor in Rm. 102.

Help for the Holidays

 

The Loudon Food Pantry serves residents of Belmont and Canterbury. For more information please contact them at 724-9731 or visit their website @ www.loudonfoodpantry.org

The Belmont Police Department's "Santa's Little Helper's" Program is available to Belmont families in need of gifts of clothing and toys for children under age 16.  Forms are available at the Belmont Police Department until December 12^th. Proof of residency must be provided when you apply. If you have any questions please call Officer Joe Marcello at 267-8350.   

 

Saint Vincent de Paul Children's Foundation in Laconia provides clothing, socks, underwear and personal hygiene items for infants through age 18. Applications are being taken and filled at SVDP on Tuesday Dec 9^th &  16th from 4:30-7 pm, and Saturdays Dec 6 and 13 from 10 am-2 pm. Please call 524-5470 for more information.

 

These wonderful organizations are always in need of donations so if you are looking for a way to give back to the community and help make a child's Holiday a little merrier, please consider donating.

 

Guidance:

Financial Aid Night:

Reminder to all juniors, seniors and their parents that Financial Aid Night will take place tomorrow night @ 6:30pm in the BHS cafeteria. College bound students and parents are encouraged to attend to get answers to their financial aid questions and information about the FAFSA, the federal student aid form for all seniors who are college bound. 

Term 1 Incompletes:

Reminder to all students who have an Incomplete in term 1 that this Friday, 12/5 is the last day to have that grade completed.

 

Lakes Region Community College:

 Will be holding an OPEN HOUSE on Saturday, Dec. 6th from 9am-Noon.  Meet with admissions reps, learn about financial aid, tour the campus. Any student who fills out an application for admission at the open house will get a fee waiver!  Mr. Dixon who works at LRCC is at BHS every Tuesday to help our BHS seniors apply for college. 

 

School-to-Career with Ms. Burke

Don't miss out on this opportunity if you are interested in a career in Video Game Development….During POWER HOUR on December 4^th, Meet & Greet with Neal Laurenza, Video Game Developer & Co-Founder of Skymap Games located in Nashua, NH!  This will take place in the BHS Guidance Conference Room!  Sign up with Mrs. Burke in Guidance to reserve your spot.  Lunch will be provided.

Clubs:

National Honor Society:

There will be a meeting for current NHS members in guidance today @ 10:20.

 

There will be a rehearsal for the NHS induction tomorrow @ 10:20 in the library. All current members and new members must attend. Please see Ms. Haubrich if you are unable to attend for any reason.

 

Math Team:

Members planning to compete in next week's meet at Newfound need to sign up by Friday, 12/5.  See Mrs. Delgado in room 112 to do so.  The meet is Wednesday, Dec. 10.

 

Senior Class:

There will be a brief senior class meeting today @  11:25am  in the library immediately following power hour.

 

FBLA:

There will be a meeting on Thursday @ 2:20 in Mr. Malcolm's room

Holiday party will be on Thursday, December 11th @ 2:45pm in Mr. Hill's room.

 

National French Honor Society:

There will be a quick meeting tomorrow @ the beginning of Power Hour.
