Athletics: TODAY

Track and Field @BHS 10:00am

 

Softball team beat Inter Lakes 6-0 behind the no hitter thrown by Megan Prescott. She took a perfect game into the 7th. Inning. First batter was retired by a strike out and the second batter was walked on a close ball 4. Third batter flew out to left, a great catch was made by Kylie O'Connell to preserve the no hitter. Third out was a grounder to short stop. Courtney Clairmont made several plays at second to assist in the defensive game.


Sports Awards:

 Please mark your calendars for the following two events:

Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony dinner:

 June 6th at 5:00pm in the BHS  Café.  Any athlete who participated in a sports team (including unified teams) this year is invited free of charge.  Coaches and Managers are free as well. Forms are in the main office.  Cost is 16.00 for a single adult, family (2 adults plus any children high school age and under)-$37.00.

 

 Spring Sports Awards:

 Wednesday, June 10th @ 6:00pm in the gymnasium.

 

Golf Tourney:

A reminder to register for the Belmont Athletics Golf Tournament being held at Loudon Country Club on June 29th! PROM:

The BHS Junior Prom, Enchanted Forest, will be held on Saturday, May 16th from 6-11pm at Gunstock.   There will be a photo booth at Gunstock, but no professional photographer.

 

All students wishing to participate in the prom march need to arrive at BHS no later than 3:30pm on Saturday to check in, the march will begin at 4:00pm.  The march will be held outside along the front walkway (weather permitting) with parents and guests lining up in the bus lane or moved into the gym.

 

When you arrive at Gunstock, you will not be able to get into the facility until 6pm.  Dinner will be served at 6:45pm after everyone is admitted.  Once you enter the prom, you will not be able to return to cars or re-enter, so please remember to bring everything you need with you.

 

Prom is a special and fun occasion for all involved.  Please be responsible and help keep everyone safe this weekend.

 

Yearbook:

If you would like to buy a yearbook, you're running out of time and we're running out of copies!

National Honor Society: 

We are still accepting registrations for runners and walkers! It costs $10 to participate, and registration includes an official 2015 Raider Run t-shirt. To get involved or if you have questions regarding the event, please email Colton Cadarette at cc0080@sau80.org or call the high school directly at 603-267-6525.

The annual Raider Run will take place on Friday, May 22.  The National Honor Society organizes this event, and this year's charity is the Children's at Dartmouth.  NHS members are currently taking t shirt orders.  The cost is $10.  Huot students and any others who wish to order a t shirt but have not yet been approached, please see Ms. Haubrich.

Walmart in Gilford is hiring!  Must be 16 years of age or older!  Will pay $9.00/hr. for the following positions:  Cashiers, Cart Pushers, Sales floor Associates, O/N Stocking Crew, and Unloading Crew.  Stop by guidance to pick up an application.

Class of 2015-Seniors:

We are now collecting deposits for the Boston Trip on June 1st. The cost of the trip is $30 and includes your ticket and transportation to Boston.  We would like everyone to go!! Please see a class officer with questions or your payment.

 

Children's Book Drive:  Spring cleanup and graduation season are around the corner!!

Alexa Silakka will be holding a children's  book drive as part of her Diploma of Distinction project from May 12-May 19th Drop off boxes will be located in Belmont Elementary,  Middle and high school. This will be benefiting The Belmont Early Learning Center. New or gently used books are welcome.

 

Bracelets for sale:

The freshman class is selling BHS bracelets. They are $2 each. Please see the flyers around the school or Mr. Hess in Rm 214 for details. Payments are due by today.

 

Please take note:

Mrs. Elizabeth Roach unexpectedly passed recently. Elizabeth had dedicated almost 20 years as an employee and to our community. Mrs. Roach was a founding member of the BHS Booster's Club and President for the last four. In order to support our athletes by providing team banquets, programs for games, and reinforcing team community, Elizabeth coordinated concessions and game volunteers, and was a continual presence at athletic events. A Memorial Scholarship for BHS graduates, based on participation in athletic programs and community service, will be awarded annually. Please share with others. Contributions may be made to the SAU office, 58 School St. Thank you
