HERE'S WHAT'S NEW:
Class of 2018: There will be a Class of 2018 meeting today in the gym at 10:10.
SADD: The SADD meeting originally scheduled for today after school has been cancelled.
Best Buddies: There will be a meeting today at 10:55 in Mrs. Lavallee's room (#105) for all of those interested in being part of the BHS Best Buddies Chapter and/or taking part in the Best Buddies Friendship Walk.
Homework Club: Homework club has been cancelled for TODAY, May 5th and Friday, May 13th.
Seis De Mayo Dance: The Seis De Mayo dance will be held Friday, May 6th in the cafeteria from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and food and drinks will be available to purchase.
Senior Meeting: There is a mandatory senior meeting FRIDAY, MAY 6TH in the gym AT 11:00 A.M. to discuss plans leading up to graduation, as well as the trip to Boston. At our recent meetings, only half of the class has been attending, which means students are missing critical information. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE FROM TODAY TO TOMORROW. ALL SENIORS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND!
Attention Juniors and Seniors: This year's prom is being held at the Inn on Newfound Lake on Saturday, May 21st from 6pm-11pm. They will be sold during Power Hour in the lobby for $50 each. Payment may be made in cash or checks made out to Belmont High School. Guest permission slips will be available at the time of ticket purchase for anyone bringing a guest that does not currently attend Belmont High School. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PURCHASE PROM TICKETS!
Music/Art Show: The Music & Art Departments will be collaborating to present a Concert & Art Show on Wednesday evening, May 18th. The concert will begin at 7 and the art will be on display in the lobby during that week. Come partake of the excellent sights and sounds. For more information, please see Mrs. Fountain or Mr. Lounsbury.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: We will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive at BHS on May 23rd. Please see Ms. Haubrich to sign up for a time slot to donate blood. Students age 16 and under can donate with a parent consent form. We appreciate your participation!
SALT: BHS Student Athletic Leadership Team is holding it's first ever ping pong tournament! Practices will be held in the gym during the first half of power hour on Monday, May 9th and Wednesday, May 11th. If you think you have got what it takes to be the Belmont High School ping pong champ, please sign up today. The sign-up sheet will be located on the gym doors. Practices are open to all but the competition will cost $3.00 to enter. The competition will be on Thursday, May 12th and into Friday if needed during power hour. Prizes will be awarded to the winner and money will be collected during practices.
BHS PTO: BHS PTO is holding a BJ's Membership fundraiser. This fundraiser has been extended to Wednesday, May 11th! Please the attached flyer and sign up form. BHS PTO earns $5 for each new or renewed membership. YOU save $10 on the cost of your membership and get THREE extra months of membership!
Renewals will add on to the end of your existing membership. Offer expires May 11, 2016. Please share with family and friends! This fundraiser is open to everyone! Note: This fundraiser is not open to members with auto-renewal.
Aviation Discovery Day: Please see the attached information regarding Aviation Discovery Day hosted by the BHS Freshman on May 14, 2016 from 9-3 pm at Laconia Airport. Please plan to come enjoy the fun!
Driver's Ed: If you are interested in driver's education for next year, please come in to the office to get a registration paper and register early for next year's classes. The first fall class is full. The next available class starts October 31st.
Students: Want a chance to go to California's Yosemite National Park next year? Earth, Ecological and Environmental Stewardship class is a hands-on, outside, collecting data, STEM based course. Mr. Deshaies and Ms. Deuell are looking for students to sign up for their class. Students enrolled in the class have the opportunity to go to California, as well as many local field trips in NH. Please go to guidance and sign up now!! (Please note you need a passing grade in biology to enroll).
Students: Applications for summer school recovery are available in guidance. Please stop in and pick one up if you are planning on attending.

· DO NOT SHOW UP IF YOU HAVE HOMEWORK TO COMPLETE
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Cool Schools: Only 1 more week for Steeplegate receipts. We are only .01/student behind for points. The new Hatbox Theater and the Bounce House/Laser Tag will be triple points during vacation week. Help us earn more money for BHS. Receipts may be turned in through the first week of May.
