PARENTS:  REMINDER THERE IS NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY ( 10/7) & MONDAY (10/10).

 

PARENTS:  WE ARE STILL MISSING SOME FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL PACKETS FROM STUDENTS.  WE HAVE CALLED THESE STUDENTS TO THE OFFICE YESTERDAY & TODAY.  PLEASE ASK YOUR STUDENT IF THEY HAVE BEEN CALLED TO THE OFFICE.  THESE FORMS ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR US TO HAVE ON FILE. (CURRENT ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBERS, AND EMERGENCY CONTACT AND THE MEDICAL FORM.)

BELMONT HIGH SCHOOL PTO PRESENTS:

Belmont High School PTO is happy to announce our Fall "It Takes a Village:  Our Community Drug Epidemic" event.  This event will be held in the BHS cafeteria on Tuesday, October 11th starting at5:30 pm with a free dinner.  A movie and discussion panel will be held directly following dinner.  Our panel will include Judge Carroll of our local "Drug Court" as well as Scott Rupp, SMART (Self Management and Recovery Training) Recovery facilitator; Kelley Gaspa, Regional Substance Misuse Prevention Coordinator; and a courageous individual currently in recovery through Judge Carroll's Recovery Court.  This event is open to students, staff, parents, community members and the public.  Let's all help to make a difference in our community and be informed about drugs in our community.  Please see our attached flyer.  Our Facebook event page to share is: https://www.facebook.com/events/1436485429702186/

 

"BHS PTO is in need of donations of dessert items (cookies, brownies, bars) for our Oct. 11th It Takes a Village Community Drug Awareness event.  If you are able to provide a dessert, please contact PTO Secretary Colleen at ptocolleen@tangoware.com  Thank you!"

NEW TODAY:

Help our school district win a $3000 Health Grant from MVSB! To vote, visit MVSB's Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/MeredithVillageSavingsBank) and click on the Meredith Village Savings Bank "What's not to 'Like'?" icon or link. Once on the voting page, scroll down to Shaker Regional School District and check the "vote" box, enter your name and contact information, and click the submit button at the bottom of the page to be entered in the "What's not to 'Like'? contest!

 

 

BEST BUDDIES IS BACK:

There will be a representative from the Best Buddies here at BHS Today during Power Hour.  She will be answering questions, handing out information and signing people up if they are interested.  If you have any questions about the organization go see Mr B in room 103 or Mr T in room 102.  There will be a meeting NEXT Wednesday for those interested.

Mattress Fundraiser

Do you or someone you know need a new mattress? The Senior Class of 2017 will be holding a Mattress Sale Fundraiser on Sunday Oct.16 from 10am - 4pm.  The BHS gym will be transformed into a showroom with numerous mattress sets of various brands, sizes and styles to choose from. See the attached flyer for more details. 

 

GUIDANCE

Congratulations to Tyler Fleming on his acceptance to Montana State University!

Registration deadline for the November 5th SAT is October 7th!

If you do not want to wait until 11/3 for our financial aid information session AND/OR want 1:1 help filing your FAFSA, see the poster ATTACHED.

 

Parents of sophomores and juniors, please check with your student to see if they have signed up for the October 19th PSAT. There is a $15.00 test fee. You can send in cash or a check made out to BHS. Test fees will be accepted in the guidance office until October 19th. 

Those students that have been approved to apply for the 20 credit diploma can pick up an application in the guidance office. Deadline to return application is OCTOBER 15TH!! NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

 

BHS School-to-Career's upcoming field trip

New Hampshire Hi-Technology Day on October 11th.  Students will explore local manufacturers and hear about careers and products made right here in the Lakes Region!  Please stop by Guidance to pick up a permission form and to sign up with Mrs. Burke.

Please see attached flyer for volunteers needed at Belmont Elementary School for their Fall Family Festival.

 

 

French Exchange Parent Meeting

There will be a parent meeting for students (French 3 or more this school year) who are interested in the exchange.  7:00 PM in the BHS library on Thursday, October 6.  See attached flyer.
