Good afternoon, BHS Students and Families!
Amazingly, here we are at the start of semester two! It has been a great year thus far, and I'm sure we have many more successes and accomplishments to come in the coming months!
I wanted to update you all that we'll be running a special schedule on day one of Semester Two in order to accommodate various goals and tasks. We will start with a short homeroom session in order to schedule the coming week's TLTs; to distribute school-wide course documents; and to guide you to your S2 schedules, using our Student Information System, Alma. Many students have already logged in and have accessed this system; you were emailed login information and may have already explored its contents, but we need to make sure every student is able to access Alma. Why? Because Alma is both the hub of your individual information (including S2 schedules) and the gateway to scheduling your classes for next school year!
Because Monday marks a new semester, and because we'll be covering Alma access/schedules at the start of the day, there is no senior privilege to begin the day on Monday, 1/27. If you are a senior who has block one privilege in your S2 schedule, you'll be able to take advantage of that opportunity on Tuesday. Teachers are working diligently to finalize grades and report out on student outcomes (Semester One final grades will be available next Wednesday, 1/29/20), and ongoing privilege eligibility determinations will be made shortly thereafter.
The schedule for 1/24/20 will go as follows:
HomeRoom: 7:25-7:45 - Alma access, S2 schedules, and weekly TLT scheduling
Block 1: 7:50 – 8:50 (60 min)
Break: 8:50 – 9:00 (10 min)
Block 2: 9:00 – 9:35 (35 min)
Block 3: 9:37 – 10:12 (35 min)
Note: No Homeroom or TLT here
Block 5: 10:16 – 11:46 (90 min)
Class 10:16 – 10:41
Lunch A 10:41 – 11:03
Lunch B 11:03 – 11:25
Lunch C 11:25 – 11:47
Block 6: 11:50 – 12:55 (65 min)
Special Semester 2 Kickoff Event: 1:00-2:15
Monday is going to be a great day for our school community, and it's going to reinforce our positive momentum through the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. I can't wait!
