Athletics:

Boys Basketball:

Open Gym: Mon., Nov 12th , Wed. 11/14 & Fri 11/16 6:00-7:30PM

Tryouts: Mon. 11/19, Wed. 11/18, Fri. 11/20 3:00-6:00PM

 

Dodge Ball:

After school today for anyone interested in playing.

 

*Volleyball:

The JV and Varsity Volleyball teams will have a pot luck on Monday, November 12 at 6:30 pm in the BHS Cafeteria to present individual certificates and awards.   Please bring a dish to share and your clean uniform.

 

* Winter Sports:

Sign up sheets are posted on the outside of the gym doors.

 

* Alpine Ski Team:
There will be a mandatory meeting Tuesday November 13th at break  in Room 111 for all students interested in alpine skiing.  Season schedule, athletic permission forms, and Gunstock season pass forms will be discussed and distributed.

 

* Indoor Track & Field:

Organizational meeting on Wed. Nov 14th after school in Rm.114.

 

Concussion testing:

Winter sports athletes that have not had concussion screening will need to see Mr. Fournier in Rm. 108 sometime this week to schedule a time for testing. All winter athletes excluding anyone who has already had the concussion impact test previously will need to do so before starting the winter season.

 

* SALT:

Leadership meeting today  @ 2:15 in Rm 203.

 

Girls Basketball:

There will be a meeting today at @ 2:30PM for any girl interested in playing basketball.

 

*The Senior Advisory of Sra. Hampton has started a care package drive for our military for the holidays.  They are accepting donations to include in the packages or money for postage through Dec. 4.   Please pass on any addresses or if you need ideas how you can help contact shampton@sau80.org

 

PTO:

The newly created BHS PTO will be meeting on the third Thursday of each month.  We welcome parents to attend anytime their schedule allows – no commitment required!  The November meeting is on Thursday, November 15th in the BHS Guidance office.  Please come join us as we create our BHS PTO vision, mission, and focus. If you have any questions at all, please contact Donna Iacopucci at donnaike@metrocast.net .

 

 

 

Shoe Drive:

Stephanie Kruzel is asking for shoe donations. The shoes will benefit children and adults in Africa. The shoe box is located in the main office. Cash donations will also be accepted as it costs $1 to ship one pair of shoes. Cash donations can also be dropped off in the main office. Deadline for collections is Nov 10th. Your extra pair of shoes could be their first. Thank you for your support.

 

Food Drive:

Lakes Region Vineyard Church is asking for donations for their food pantry. Donated items can be brought to the BHS main office until Nov 20th.

 

News from the Guidance Dept:

*NH Ball Bearing is hosting an open house this coming Saturday, Nov. 10 from noon to 3 p.m. at their facility at 155 Lexington Dr. in Laconia.  Students and families are invited for a tour of their state of the art facility and to explore possible careers in manufacturing.  Visitors will need to provide their own transportation. 

 

 

UNH Manchester is having an open house on Saturday, November 17th.  Students can obtain information a register online at: http://manchester.unh.edu/admissions/high-school-open-house  .   Besides the standard tour and admissions information we'll be running a session specifically for parents on: financial aid & how to pay for college, how to assist your child in navigating the college search process and the importance of selecting your senior year courses.

 

Clubs:

* Math Team:

Congratulations to the math team on their fine finish in yesterday's meet.  High scorers were Julia Ashey, Austin Wilder, and Carol Lipshultz.  Great job! 

 

* Broadcast Journalism:

The BCJ team will be doing a Veteran's Day segment next week. If you have any pictures of family veterans, please email them to bhsbroadcastjournalism@gmail.com

 

*French Club:
We will be making pork pies in room 103 today  after school until about 6:30.

 

*NHS:  There will be a meeting during break Tuesday, Nov 13th  to sign up for Faculty breakfast items.  Please be prompt.

 

* National French Honor Society:
We will have a meeting after school on Wednesday, November 14 in room 205to prepare for the induction ceremony.  The ceremony has been moved to Wednesday, November 28 at 6:00 PM in the BHS library

 

*Drama Club:

There will be Steam Heat dance practices for all soccer boys involved today from 2:15-3:00 in the caf.

 

 

Class of 2013:

* Class of 2013:  Fundraiser Opportunity

If you would like to participate in the Cash Calendar fundraiser see Mr. Foley to pick up

calendars.  They are for the month of December and are $5.00 each. We will sell until November 30th. Seniors can see class officers during lunch to pick up calendars to sell also.

 

 The deadline for submitting  Senior pictures to Ms Pitrone is tomorrow.  Make sure to get a hard copy or digital image to her  or we will be forced to use your school ID photo.  Please see Ms. Pitrone with any questions or concerns.  Pictures can be emailed to apitrone@sau80.org.

Class of 2014:

Anyone who would like to purchase a BHS tie-dye shirt please see Mr. Deshaies in Rm 209. T-shirts are $10 and are on a first come first serve basis as quantities and sizes are limited.

 Need an idea for a holiday gift?  BHS water bottle $10. Email señora - shampton@sau80.org. if interested.  Water bottles are available until they are gone.

FBLA:

Holiday Fair - Mix 94.1 Cash N Cans Drive - Donations of canned goods or cash donations for the Mix 94.1 Cash N Cans Drive will be collected at the Holiday Fair on Saturday, November 10th.  If you are willing and able to support this cause, please  do.  Our local food pantries are beneficiaries of this event. 

 

Holiday Fair - The 6th Annual BHS Holiday Fair hosted by FBLA will be held on Saturday, November

10th from 9am to 3pm at the high school. Over 100 crafters and vendors offering a wdie variety of hand crafted and holiday items will be at the fair, and the day will also include a raffle and breakfast, lunch, and snacks offered by various student groups.  A portion of the proceeds from the fair will be donated to local charities for the holiday season. Make plans now to come start your holiday shopping with us! Thank you for your support!

 Can tabs - FBLA will be collecting can tabs throughout the year for David's House.  Students are asking families to set up a collection bag or box at home and periodically bring them in.  The can tabs will be delivered to David's House at the end of March.  Thank you for supporting this great cause!
