All students - NH JumpStart is sponsoring a Get10 Virtual Quest that requires you to go online and answer 10 multiple choice questions about personal finance. The questions include links to web sites where the answers can be found, so it is not very difficult. If you answer all 10 questions correctly, you will be entered to win ITunes gift cards and IPad Minis. If you are interested, please see Mr. Hill to confirm you have the correct answers or check it out yourself at www.jumpstartget10.org. Deadline to participate is April 19th.
Friends of Belmont Football Fundraiser:
Every Tuesday during the months of April and May, Sal's Pizza will donate $2 for each large pizza sold at the Belknap Mall location.
Food Drive:
Today is the last day to bring in non-perishable food items to your 4th block class. Food will be donated to the local food pantry. The winner of the food drive will win a pizza party.
PTO:
Recycle your ink cartridges, laptops, cell phones, MP3 players, ipods, tablets, etc. to raise money for the BHS PTO ! All items are accepted and will earn us money for programs and more when submitted for recycling. A dropbox is available in the BHS lobby. Please ask your employer to consider recycling for the BHS PTO. Thank you !
Internet and Social Media Informational Meeting:
The Belmont Police Department will be hosting this very important meeting on May 13th in the BHS caf @ 6:00PM. The discussion will be on risks and benefits of social networking, how to recognize your child may be at risk and how to prevent your child from becoming a victim. Please mark your calendars now .
Nate Morrison Fund:
In July of 2012, one of "Tilton's finest"', Corporal Nate Morrison learned he only had one kidney, and that kidney was failing. Over 300 potential donors have already signed up to see if they are a match for Nate.
You can also help by giving a donation to Nate by sending a check made payable to "Help for Nate", and mailing it to the Tilton Police Department, PO Box 292, Tilton, NH 03276.

Youth Leadership:
The team that attended the training in Lebanon will be meeting next Thursday at 2:15 in Ms. Lavallee's room.
Band:
Cabaret will be held tonight @ 7:00PM in caf.
Guidance:
1.Attention Canterbury Seniors: We have a scholarship opportunity for our Canterbury Seniors who are college bound. The Gail Matulaitis Scholarship is available in the guidance office.
2. Lakes Region Community College will be holding their Spring Open House on Saturday, April 6th from 9am to 12noon. There are more than 30 degree options and certificate programs to explore including Liberal Arts, Automotive, Energy Services, Restaurant Management, Fire Science, Marine Services, Business, Computers, Graphic Design, Nursing, Media Arts and so much more!
3.NHTI will be holding their Spring Open House for prospective students and families on Wednesday, April 10th from 5-7pm. Come tour the campus, meet Academic Department Heads, current & former students, Admissions and Financial Aid representatives.
4. UNH Manchester is holding an Open House for juniors and seniors that have a strong interest in furthering their education in social studies & humanities fields on Thursday, April 11th from 7-8:30pm at University Center at 400 Commercial Street in Manchester. Students can register for the event at www.manchester.unh.edu/historyopenhouse.
Seniors:
1.Seniors are reminded to inform the guidance office of all college acceptances and to let guidance know of their final choice of where they will be attending next fall.
2.If you are a NH State Scholar be sure to see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance for a scholarship available only to NH State Scholars.
3. There is a scholarship opportunity for seniors who are going to pursue a career in Environmental Engineering. If that's you...See Mrs. O'Connell for an application.
4. The Maurice J. Fortin Memorial scholarship applications are due in the guidance office by April 5th.
Huot Tech:
The following students are missing permission slips to attend the Huot Tech next year.
Jared Ess, Emmaly Goldthwaite,, Haley Jesus, , Jacob Rolfe, Bruce Zimmer, Joe Coutu, Colby Pickowicz, Austin Chaffee, Nate Wilson. If you plan on attending next year your permission slips must be in the guidance office by today.
Summer 2013 Teen Internships:
The Winnipesaukee Playhouse still has openings available for their summer teen internship program. For more details and a link to their application package, see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance. Deadline to apply has been extended to March 31st.
Summer Scholars Program:
LRCC is pleased to announce they will be continuing the Summer Scholars Program again this year. This highly successful program is supported through the generosity of LRGHealthcare, provides a FREE college Anatomy and Physiology I course to a select group of talented high school students interested in a career in the field of healthcare. This course will allow students to earn four college credits which are transferable to UNH, PSU, Keene and other state colleges and universities. Not only will students have the opportunity to experience course fundamentals to prepare them for many health careers, they will also be provided with information about the range of health careers open to them and the educational requirements of each. This course will be offered over a 6 week period from June 24 to July 30 on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9am to 2:55pm, with a break the week of July 1st. Interested students should pick up an application in guidance. Deadline to apply is April 5th. Interested students must have taken Algebra I and biology and successfully passed.

Drama Club:
Drama will have meetings/rehearsal today 2:30-4:00 so plan accordingly. Please see Ms. Pitrone with any conflicts as we will be deciding on cast and reading through the play.

Faith, Hope and Love Foundation:
The Faith, Hope and Love Foundation would like to invite any girl in our school that may need a FREE prom dress in order to attend prom to their 7th Annual Gowns For Girls Event. This is a one day only event that will take place on Saturday, April 6th from 1-4pm at the Meredith Bay Colony Club located at 21 Upper Hill Road in Meredith. Girls are helped in the order that they arrive to the event. During the event girls can pick out a dress and accessories as well as get hair and makeup tips for prom night. If you will be attending the event with a group larger than 4, you are asked to RSVP to info@faithhopeandlovefoundation.org.
