Dodge Ball:

The gym will be open after school from 2:15-3:15PM on Thurs. ,March 7th for any student or faculty member interested in playing dodgeball.

 

Girls Lacrosse:

Open gym for all high school girls interested in playing lacrosse on Saturday ,  March 16th & 23rd at Belmont High School gym from 4:30-7:00 PM. Sticks and goggles are available for use.

 

Booster Club:

Meeting, tonight 6:30PM in the guidance office conference room.

 

Drivers Education:

The next Drivers Ed class will begin tomorrow night and will run until April 18th. If you are interested in signing up, you should come to the main office to get a form. Please note, you must be turning 16 by April 18th. Class is $650.00 .Checks should be made payable to Dale LaPlante.

 

Childfind Clinic:

Are you concerned about your child's development? Do you suspect that your child may have a disabliltiy? Shaker Regional School District will be holding a "Child Find Clinic" on Tues., March 19th at Canterbury Elementary School from 1:00-3:00PM for children age birth through 6 years old. Certified staff will screen students for possible learning disabilities, speech and language disabilities, motor skills, and overall development functioning. The clinic is open to any resident of Belmont or Canterbury, but APPOINTEMENTS ARE REQUIRED. Please contact the SAU office at 267-9222 for additional information or to make an appointment.

 

Internet and Social Media Information Meeting:

Internet safety is a shared responsibility between the public, the Internet industry, and the legal community. However, parents remain the "first line of defense" in protecting their children against Internet dangers. Please come and join the Belmont Police Department and Detective Michael Cassidy of the Concord Police Computer Crimes Unit on March 13th at 6:00PM in the BHS cafeteria for an informational meeting on Social Media and the Internet.

 

PTO News:

 Parents and students, the PTO would love your printer cartridges!  It is a great money raiser for the school!  Just drop them in the ink cartridge big red drop off box in the lobby.  If you know a business that would like to donate their cartridges, or a local business willing to "host" an ink cartridge donation box,  just let the PTO know at  donnaike@metrocast.net.  We can even arrange for pickup of bulk cartridges.  Thanks so much!

 

Senior Class Trip:

  Reminder that second deposit of $245.00 is due this Friday 3/8.  Please give your check made payable to Belmont High School to Mr. Foley.


Guidance:

Congratulations to Julia Ashey on her acceptance to Sacred Heart University.

 

Are you a student in grades 9-11 who is interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math & Manufacturing? If so, the Huot Tech Center would like to invite you to a Career Panel Discussion with local professional in those fields. This field trip will take place on Friday, March 15th from 10:10-12:30. Please sign up in the guidance office if your are interested and pick up a permission slip to attend. Students will be taking a bus to Huot and it's FREE!!

 

Financial Aid Packages:

 Reminder to seniors that most colleges (UNH, Keene, PSU to name a few) will be sending their financial packages through the accepted student portal. You are reminded to check your financial aid status using each of your accounts, many colleges do not MAIL financial packages through US mail. Any questions see guidance.

 

Seniors:

This Thursday March 7th, all seniors will be participating in the National Educaiton Assessment Project testing. This is a MANDATORY test which will last for about one hour. Students will be called from their block 2/3 classes on Thursday and directed to their testing rooms at that time.


Lakes Region Manufacturing Week, March 11-15

Belknap EDC welcomes the Lakes Region community to explore the world of advanced manufacturing during the first annual Lakes Region Manufacturing Week, March 11-15. The week features tours and open house events at eight manufacturing facilities throughout the region. In addition, Lakes Region Community College will host an information session for the community to learn more about their new advanced manufacturing certificate and degree programs. The Huot Technical Center's Manufacturing & Pre-Engineering Program will also host an open house for anyone interested in learning about their unique four-year high school program that prepares students for careers in high-tech fields.

Clubs:

Drama:

There will be a mandatory meeting for all students interested in participating in the Spring drama production on Wednesday after school from 2:15-3:30.  If you can't make it, please see Ms. Pitrone.

 

National Honor Society:

Candidates Night being sponsored by Student Council, tonight from 6:00-8:00PM in the BHS caf. (Members from the School Board as well as the Town of Belmont will be in attendance).

 

NHS will be collecting pennies and any other coins to help patients with Leukemia & Lymphoma.  Pennies for Patients funds research for cures for these blood cancers.  Please help fund cutting edge treatments for these patients. You can find collection boxes in the main, guidance and nurses office.

FBLA:

Can tabs - FBLA will be collecting can tabs throughout the year for David's House.  Students are asking families to set up a collection bag or box at home and periodically bring them in.  The can tabs will be delivered to David's House at the end of March.  Thank you for supporting this great cause!

 

FBLA - Students attending the Monarchs game on March 15th ... your commitment forms are overdue!  Please get your signed form to Mr. Hill.
