All students - NH JumpStart is sponsoring a Get10 Virtual Quest that requires you to go online and answer 10 multiple choice questions about personal finance.  The questions include links to web sites where the answers can be found, so it is not very difficult.  If you answer all 10 questions correctly, you will be entered to win ITunes gift cards and IPad Minis.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Hill to confirm you have the correct answers or check it out yourself at www.jumpstartget10.org.  Deadline to participate is April 19th.

 

 Drivers Education:

Please note this weeks Driver's Ed class will be on Tuesday and Wednesday (instead of Tuesday & Thursday)

 

Food Drive:

Bring non- perishable food items to your 4^th block class all this week. All food will be donated to the local food pantries. NH needs the food to help others in need, this is your chance to shine and make a difference, don't let another child go hungry. The winner of the food drive will win a pizza party.

 

 Band & Chorus:

Spring Choral Concert, tomorrow night @ 7:00PM in gym.

 

Cabaret will be held on Friday, March 29^th @ 7:00PM in caf.

Guidance:

Congratulations to Elizabeth Yelle and Austin Wilder  on their acceptances to Boston University and Northeastern University and  to Rebecca Drew-Moyer on her acceptance to Boston University.

 

Seniors:

1.Seniors are reminded to inform the guidance office of all college acceptances and to let guidance know of their final choice of where they will be attending next fall.

 

2.If you  are a NH State Scholar be sure to see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance for a scholarship available only to NH State Scholars.

 

3. There is a scholarship opportunity for seniors who are going to pursue a career in Environmental Engineering. If that's you...See Mrs. O'Connell for an application. 

 

Summer 2013 Teen Internships:

 The Winnipesaukee Playhouse still has openings available for their summer teen internship program. For more details and a link to their application package, see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance. Deadline to apply has been extended to March 31st. 

 

Summer Scholars Program:

LRCC is pleased to announce they will be continuing the Summer Scholars Program again this year. This highly successful program is supported through the generosity of LRGHealthcare, provides a FREE college Anatomy and Physiology I course to a select group of talented high school students interested in a career in the field of healthcare. This course will allow students to earn four college credits which are transferable to UNH, PSU, Keene and other state colleges and universities. Not only will students have the opportunity to experience course fundamentals to prepare them for many health careers, they will also be provided with information about the range of health careers open to them and the educational requirements of each. This course will be offered over a 6 week period from June 24 to July 30 on Mondays and Wednesdays,  9am to 2:55pm, with a break the week of July 1st. Interested students should pick up an application in guidance. Deadline to apply is April 5th. Interested students must have taken Algebra I and biology and successfully passed. 

 

Clubs:

FBLA:

 All members attending the State Leadership Conference need to have your permission slips in by 2:30pm today.They are overdue! We will be meeting at BHS at 6:45am on Thursday morning, in business attire and ready to go please.

Our next meeting will be tomorrow @ 2:20PM in Rm. 211.

Members need to help complete the following:

 

1. Prepare for your SLC competitive events

2. Help with the scrapbook at meetings

4. A small group to construct the Igniting Innovation piggy bank for Make-A-Wish

5. A small group to construct the Local Chapter Exhibit about BHS FBLA that ties in with the national Igniting Innovation theme. 

Drama Club:

Drama will have meetings/rehearsal Tuesday through Friday this week from 2:30-4:00 so plan accordingly.  Please see Ms. Pitrone with any conflicts as we will be deciding on cast and reading through the play.

Tomorrow @ 2:15PM in Rm 106.

National Honor Society:

Red Cross Blood Drive: 

Blood Drive will be held on Thurs. March 28^th from 11:00-4:00 in the BHS gym. Any 16 year old interested in giving blood during our annual Red Cross Blood Drive must have a permission slip filled out ahead of time.  See Ms. Angwin in the Irish Alcove to obtain said document.

 

Spanish Club:

Poster Contest from NH Assoc. of World Language Teachers:

Paper or electronic, $50 prize, go to NHAWLT.org  for specifications or see Sra. Hampton for details.Entries need to be submitted to Sra. Hampton by April 1^st.

 

Lost:

Star pin that says 2^nd place classic dance solo. If found please return to the office.
