Raider Run:
Sign up for the 10th Annual Raider Run. Walk or run for $12 Fashionable tee-shirts included. Walk for $5 with no tshirt. Raider Run date to be determined.
NH Chronicle:
Canterbury Elementary School will be featured on the TV show NH Chronicle tomorrow night @ 7:00PM on Channel 9. Be sure to tune in.
Yearbook:
Are now on sale for $45 or you can reserve one with a $5 deposit. Please see Ms. Pitrone if you have any questions. Get yours today!
Photography Contest:
The theme is nature. Entries are due by May 3rd. Applications are available outside Ms. Pitrone's Rm. (206).
Commendation Awards:
Will be held tomorrow at 2:00PM in the library.
Ice Cream Social:
Will be held on Friday for all high honors and honor students from Term 3 at 1:45PM in café.
Drivers Education:
The next Drivers Ed class will begin on April 30th and will run until June 18th. The class meets on Tues and Thurs. evenings from 6:00-8:00PM. Cost is $650 with a $150 deposit due when you sign up for the class and any remaining money due by the first day of class. If you are interested in signing up please stop by the main office to pick up a registration packet. Please note, you need to be 16 by the end of the class.
PTO:
Please join the BHS PTO in welcoming Maria Dreyer, Superintendent, and Madison Van Cleave, BHS Student, at our next meeting, tomorrow night @ 6 pm, in Room 103. Madison Van Cleave will be giving a presentation about her "Reach for Change" Anti-Bullying program. This presentation includes a PowerPoint and a compelling video with information and survey results from BHS students, and shows the impact this program had on students. We hope to see you there !
College Night:
You are invited to the BHS PTO COLLEGE NIGHT: May 1st, 6:00!! No cost! A variety of workshops will be offered, attend just the ones of interest to you. Sponsored by your BHS PTO friends! Parents and guardians - If you plan to send your child to college, you can't miss this event!! Please join us for this in-depth evening of workshops filled with information you need to make college happen for your children!! If you think you cannot afford college, you will be amazed at what you can do. Don't wait to have a senior! The earlier you start the easier it is. The workshops were inspired by a number of parents who have gone through the college process with their seniors and wished they had planned earlier! Their lessons learned will make your process easier!! See the attached Agenda for more information on the workshops.
Town of Belmont :
Any interested student who would like to sign up to record selectmen's meetings, be sure to come down to the main office and see Mr. Clary. Possible credit for this service can be arranged.

FREE Summer School Classes at BHS:
We are offering a few summer school classes for students interested in taking classes this summer to build credits on their transcript. So far, we have
1. Digital Photography with Mr. Frick being offered from June 24-Aug 1st. (6 wks)Classes are Monday & Wednesday from 8am-10:30am or Tuesday & Thursday from 8am-10:30am. At least 8 students have to sign up for each section in order to run a class. Permission slip and class syllabus are in guidance. Please note: Space is limited so you are encouraged to sign up in guidance and get a permission slip.
2. Creative Writing with Ms. Pitrone being offered from June 24-Aug 1st. Classes are Monday and Wednesday from 10:30am-1pm
3. Theatre Arts with Ms. Pitrone from June 24-Aug 1st, classes are Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am-1pm. Permission slip and class syllabus are in guidance. Please sign up in the guidance office and get a permission slip. At least 8 students must sign up for each class or the class will be cancelled.
4. Street Law with Ms.Tardugno is being offered from June 24-Aug.1st. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30pm-4pm. The course will cover practical knowledge of our American legal system at the national, state, and especially local level.
Students who are interested in taking any of these summer classes should have signed permission forms to guidance ASAP.
Seniors:
1. Citizen's Bank TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship applications are due to Citizen's Bank on Friday 4/19/2013
2. Any senior planning on going into education for a career, there is a book award available through the Shaker Regional Education Association. See Ms. Angwin for the application. The deadline is May 15.

Prom Tickets:
For all you prom goers out there, Prom is right around the corner. Buy your tickets at lunch this week for $35 each. Deadline to purchase tickets is May 3rd. Prom will be held on May 11th @ BHS from 6:00-11:00PM.
Broadcast Journalism:
Will be having a small poetry competition for the month of April. Feel free to submit a poem that you have written, and if chosen your poem will be included in the poem of the week in the weekly broadcast. Please note , poems should be submitted on Fridays and the winner will be chosen the following week. Submit your poems to Jared Clough, Ms. Jemery or Mrs. Bryant.
