Varsity Baseball players need to get $14.50 for embroidery to Cole Padula no later than tomorrow. If you are paying by check, make payable to Body Covers.

Sports Contracts:

Reminder to turn in athletic contracts to Mrs. O'Connell. Contracts must be in before game/meet or you can not participate. Library Books:

As the quarter closes, please remember to RENEW OR RETURN all checked-out library materials.  If you are unsure as to what you owe, please check with Mr. Russell.

 

All students - NH JumpStart is sponsoring a Get10 Virtual Quest that requires you to go online and answer 10 multiple choice questions about personal finance.  The questions include links to web sites where the answers can be found, so it is not very difficult.  If you answer all 10 questions correctly, you will be entered to win ITunes gift cards and IPad Minis.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Hill to confirm you have the correct answers or check it out yourself at www.jumpstartget10.org.  Deadline to participate is April 19th.

 

Friends of Belmont Football Fundraiser:

Every Tuesday during the months of April and May, Sal's Pizza will donate $2 for each large pizza sold at the Belknap Mall location.

 

PTO:

Recycle your ink cartridges, laptops, cell phones, MP3 players, ipods, tablets, etc. to raise money for the BHS PTO !  All items are accepted and will earn us money for programs and more when submitted for recycling.  A dropbox is available in the BHS lobby.  Please ask your employer to consider recycling for the BHS PTO. Thank you !

 

Internet and Social Media Informational Meeting:

The Belmont Police Department will be hosting this very important meeting on May 13th in the BHS caf @ 6:00PM. The discussion will be on risks and benefits of social networking, how to recognize your child may be at risk and how to prevent your child from becoming a victim. Please mark your calendars now, and be looking for another reminder next month the wk before the meeting.  


Youth Leadership:

The team that attended the training in Lebanon will be meeting today @ 2:15PM  in Ms. Lavallee's room, (103)

 

Free Summer Camp:

Laconia Lodge of the Elks is accepting applications for FREE summer camp for under privileged youths. Anyone who qualifies for the free lunch program qualifies for camp. Please go to www.coppercannon.org where you will find the application to apply. Additionally, those looking to apply as a full-time summer staff member should go to the "staff" section on the main menu and then click on "how to apply".

 

Guidance:

Digital Photography:

Mr. Frick will be offering his Digital Photography course again this summer. The class meets two times a week for six weeks. Space is limited so sign up soon in room 106 with Mr. Frick or with Mrs. Seiferth in Guidance.

 

Aviation Career Exploration (ACE) Camps:

ACE Camps are week-long STEM-based learning opportunities with an emphasis on aviation and aerospace education.  We'll be running several sessions – a half-day camp for grades 3-5; full-day sessions for grades 6-8, 9-11, and 10-12 (for older and/or experienced campers). If interested see Mrs. O'Connell in the guidance office for an application. Scholarships are available.

 

School To Career:

1. Students interested in a potential career in law enforcement, please consider joining the Belmont Police Explorers!  Contact Officer Joe Marcello, Ms. Madsen, or Mrs. O'Connell in Guidance for more information. 

 

2. Pike Industries in Belmont is looking to hire a Construction Cost Clerk.  Contact Ms. Madsen for more information.   

 

College Open Houses:

Lakes Region Community College will be holding their Spring Open House on Saturday, April 6th from 9am to 12noon. There are more than 30 degree options and certificate programs to explore including Liberal Arts, Automotive, Energy Services, Restaurant Management, Fire Science, Marine Services, Business, Computers, Graphic Design, Nursing, Media Arts and so much more!

 

NHTI will be holding their Spring Open House for prospective students and families on Wednesday, April 10th from 5-7pm. Come tour the campus, meet Academic Department Heads, current & former students, Admissions and Financial Aid representatives.

 

 UNH Manchester is holding an Open House for juniors and seniors that have a strong interest in furthering their education in social studies & humanities fields on Thursday, April 11th from 7-8:30pm at University Center at 400 Commercial Street in Manchester. Students can register for the event at www.manchester.unh.edu/historyopenhouse.

 

Seniors:

The Maurice J. Fortin Memorial scholarship applications are due in the guidance office by tomorrow.

 

Attention Canterbury Seniors: We have a scholarship opportunity for our Canterbury Seniors who are college bound. The Gail Matulaitis Scholarship is available in the guidance office.

 

Clubs:

Class of 2013:

Those going on the class trip need to pick up raffle tickets to sell from Mr. Foley this week. 

The raffle is for (2) tickets to The Band Perry concert on June 1st.   Tickets are $5.00 each.

Tickets will be sold until April 30th with a drawing date of May 1st.

 

Broadcast Journalism:

Will be having a small poetry competition for the month of April. Feel free to submit a poem that you have written, and if chosen your poem will be included in the poem of the week in the weekly broadcast. Submit your poems to Jared Clough, Ms. Jemery or Mrs. Bryant.

 

Drama:

Students who are interested in acting in the spring production:  Auditions for main characters will be held today in  Room 206 from 2:15 to 3: 45.  See Ms. Pitrone for more information.

 

FBLA:

Our next meeting will be today at 2:20pm in Mr. Hill's room.  Please bring your feedback on the State Leadership Conference.

 

Sports Banquet:

Each year the Belmont High School Booster Club sponsors a banquet recognizing all of the student athletes who participated in any sport during the year.  Our aim as a Club is to do our best to ensure all those students participating in the BHS athletic program know that we appreciate them as students and appreciate their contributions to their sport or sports of choice.  This year's banquet will be held on Friday, May 31st in the Belmont High School cafeteria.  We will have a fully catered meal, BHS Athletic Hall of Fame presentations (awarded to past outstanding graduated athletes of BHS or coaches), and a slide show.  Each student athlete also receives a small gift of appreciation.  An invitation will be sent out this week to all parents/guardians of our athletes.  Please be looking for it in the mail. 

 

French Club:
The French exchange students arrive  on Saturday!!!  On Monday, April 8th  after school, the French Club will be hosting a welcome reception in the BHS library.  Students and staff are welcome to come and meet the group and have some refreshments.

 

Class of 2014: Prom Tickets

Are being sold during lunches for $35


Attention Prom Go-ers:

There will be a raffle held by the class of 2016 in the café during lunches to win gift cards to help with prom needs. Chances include: spray tanning from Broadway North, a full make- up application and an up-do or men's cut from SunDay's Salon and Spa, prom flowers from Lakes Region Floral Studio ,  an awesome hair product gift basket , a $35 gift card from Beyond the Fringe and a custom facial from Lakes Cosmetic Institute. Tickets will be $1 each or (6) for $5.


Faith, Hope and Love Foundation:

The Faith, Hope and Love Foundation would like to invite any girl in our school that may need a FREE prom dress in order to attend prom to their 7th Annual Gowns For Girls Event. This is a one day only event that will take place on Saturday, April 6th from 1-4pm at the Meredith Bay Colony Club located at 21 Upper Hill Road in Meredith. Girls are helped in the order that they arrive to the event. During the event girls can pick out a dress and accessories as well as get hair and makeup tips for prom night. If you will be attending the event with a group larger than 4, you are asked to RSVP to info@faithhopeandlovefoundation.org
