Athletics:

BHS Girls JV/Var. Volleyball vs. Mascenic 4:30pm/6:00pm

BHS Boys JV Football vs. Franklin 4:00pm (The Meadows, Gilford)

 

Saturday, the Boys and Girls Cross-Country teams competed on a challenging off-road course at the Laconia Invitational.  The Boys placed 8th, lead by Ian Rupp's 11th place finish in 20:38.  Also finishing strong were Nikolai Fernandez (26th), Isaiah Knowlton (31st), Chris Spooner-Bishop (63rd), and Kaleb Brown (74th).  Talia Sperduto finished 5th in 25:33 for the girls, followed by Carol Lipshultz (38th).  Great job and good luck atTuesday's Newfound Invitational!

 

Car Registration:

Administration will be checking vehicles in the parking lot to make sure there is a white hang tag on the rearview mirror. If you know you don't have a new white tag, please come to the main office for a car registration form.

 

FBLA

The Fall Leadership Workshop will be held on October 9th, 2014.

 

Your registration fee ($35 payable to BHS) and permission slips for the Fall Leadership Workshop are due today.  Please see Colton Cadarette to hand these in or turn them in to Mr. Hill's mailbox in an envelope in the office.  Please include your t-shirt size on the envelope

 

Our next meeting will be Monday, September 15th at 2:20pm in Mr. Hill's room.  Students running for an office need to get their applications to Mr. Hill by tomorrow and be ready to give a short, meaningful speech on Monday about why you are a good candidate for the position.

For all students ... FBLA will continue to collect can tabs all year for David's House. You can drop them off in Rm 211 or pass into the main office. Thank you for your support!

 

 

Senior Pictures

The deadline to submit senior pictures is fast approaching. Submit a disc or flash drive to Mrs. Hamilton BY Friday October 31st.  Any  photos turned in after this date will be charged a late fee.

 

Yearbook Sale

Yearbooks are on sale now! Order forms are available through Mrs. Hamilton in Room 206 or the main office to purchase your DISCOUNTED yearbook. Don't miss the opportunity to save money on this keepsake. Supplies are LIMITED!

 

Class of 2016:

Students working at NHMS need to turn in the waiver to Mr. Hill or his mailbox in the office.  

 

Class 0f 2015

The NASCAR race at NHMS is Sun. Sept. 21.  If you are 16 and want to work, sign up in room 207.   6 spots available for French, Spanish and Seniors.

 

 

BMS PTO:

Is seeking student volunteers on Saturday, Sept 20th from 4:00-6:00PM to help with the annual Fall Fling at BMS. If you are interested in helping out please contact Jessica at bmspto03220@gmail.com or call 290-4151.

 YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND the NH Construction Career Day on September 18th from 7:30am – 2:00pm.  Hands-on experience with Heavy Equipment, Welding, Small Tools, Plumbing, Electrical Wiring, Brick Laying and much more will be available to you to TEST DRIVE!  You must sign up ASAP with Mrs. Burke in Guidance and turn in your signed permission slip by 9/9/14!  FREE Event

YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND the Lakes Region Manufacturing Week 9/29 - 10/3

Visit area Manufacturers such as Eptam Plastics, Titeflex Aerospace, NH Ball Bearing, Vitex Extrusion, Baron Machines, etc. as well as post-secondary options at LRCC.  Times and dates vary, so please see Mrs. Burke in Guidance to pick up a permission slip and schedule a visit.  Attention students interested in Marine Science...

YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND the Ocean Discovery Day at UNH - Chase Ocean Engineering Laboratory on October 3rd from 8:30am - 2:00pm.  Have a chance to talk with scientists, operate an ROV, learn about ocean mapping and ocean acoustics and handle sea creatures!  FREE EVENT

 

Guidance

Bow High School is hosting a college information night on 10/8 at 6:30 PM in
their Auditorium
for Yale, Dartmouth, Brown and Colby. If you are a student
who is applying to one of these schools, please pass this information on to
them so they can meet the reps. The event should last from 6:30-8:30 PM.

 

Laconia Adult Education will be offering an SAT (college board) Prep Class beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 24th and running for seven weeks.  The SAT Prep class is scheduled to end on Wednesday, Nov. 5th in time for the SAT exam that is scheduled to be given on Saturday, Nov, 8th. The cost for this class is: Registration Fee $25, book fee $20 for a total cost of $95. To enroll, please contact Peggy Selig, Director of Laconia Adult Ed at 524-5712.

 

Students interested in learning about opportunities with the Army will have time during power hour on Monday 9/15 in the cafeteria. Sargent Phillips will be here to see any interested students. 

 

Lasell College will be visiting the guidance office on Friday, September 19th. Juniors and seniors who would be interested in learning what Lasell has to offer should sign up in the guidance office

 

Web2School

The parent portal of web2school is up and working. Students who have been at BHS for the last 3 years will be using the same user names and passwords they have already be assigned. Freshmen and new students to BHS can see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance for their log in information. Parents feel free to call or email Mrs. O'Connell for your log in information.

 

 

JUNIORS and SENIORS

Off for a college visit? Snap a selfie by one of that college's landmarks and send it off to Ms. Seiferth at bseiferth@sau80.org  We will print it of and add it to our new college bound bulletin board!

 

 

French Club

Is meeting Monday September 15th at  6:00pm in the BHS Library.

 

From Wednesday, March 18 to Saturday, March 29, Belmont High School students will have the opportunity to travel to France.  During this travel program, students will benefit from the cultural exposure and linguistic opportunity that they will experience in France.

 

If a student intends to apply for the travel experience, one of the parents or guardians must attend this meeting.  This is mandatory.  Although the students are not required to attend this first meeting, they will emerge from the meeting better informed of the program and the expectations.  Completion of French 2 required.

 

Drivers Ed

Next Class starts October 28th, and ends December 18th.  If you turn 16 by the end of this class and would like to take drivers ed please come to the office for the form.

 

FITNESS ROOM

 This week the fitness room WILL BE OPEN Tuesday, Wednesday, and  Thursday 2:20-3:15pm

 

From the nurse

BHS is teaming up with Lakes Region Partnership for Public Health once again this year to host a flu vaccine clinic for students on Tuesday, September 30.   Consent forms were sent home with students today. Please return the consent form to school by Monday, September 22. 

 

Robotics

Robotics is meeting today in room 209 from 2:30-5pm

 

Spanish Club

There is a Spanish Club meeting on Wednesday 9/17 from 2:15-3:15pm in room 207.
