Cool School Dollars:

When doing shopping at Steeplegate Mall, save your receipts and drop off in the box in the main lobby. All monies earned benefits our scholarships.

 

Shaker Regional School District Fingerprinting Clinics:

If you plan on working in any capacity with our students for the 2015-2016 school year, you will need to fill out a volunteer affidavit and be fingerprinted, the following date is for fingerprinting for the district.  If you have already been fingerprinted you do not need to do this.

Seniors:

 If you signed up to work at the Color Run this Saturday, you will need to be at NHMS in Lot S2 (Main Entrance - 2nd lot on right) between 4 and 4:30pm, where you will meet Mr. Hill.  Please be on time, as assignments are typically distributed based on who arrives first.  If you are not yet 18 years old, please see Mrs, Pitrone for a waiver that needs to be signed by you and a parent and get that back to her by Thursday.  We may be working as late as 11pm, so please have clothes to keep warm after the sun goes down.

Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors:

It is time to order your class rings! Ring Orders will be taken on Wednesday September 16th during all lunches in the Café. A $50.00 deposit is required when placing your order.  Design your custom ring on-line at Jostens.com or pick up a ring packet in the main office.


Clubs & Organizations:


Booster Club:

Booster Club is in need of new members. There will be a membership drive meeting Thursday September 17th at 6:30 PM in the cafe. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.


Spanish Club:

Spanish club meeting Monday September 14 @ 2:20pm room 207.  Come celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage month.

Monarch Festival this Saturday, September 12th, 9AM-4 at Petals in the Pines, 126 Baptist Road in Canterbury.

Spanish Club will be selling quesadillas, nachos, water and soda from 11 to 2. 



French Club:

Anyone interested in joining the French Club there will be a meeting on Monday September 14th @ 2:20pm in room 205. Come and join the French Club and run for an office.


FBLA:

FBLA meeting in the library on Wednesday September 16th, at 2:20pm



Yearbooks are on Sale until September 18th!

The yearbook is currently available for its LOWEST PRICE of the year - $43 (not $45 as the flyer stated). To order, see Mrs. Hamilton in Room 210, email her at khamilton@sau80.org, or order directly online at jostens.com. Payment plans of up to three installments are available. Please make checks out to BHS.


Guidance:

1. Any senior who is applying to for Service Academy Nominations from Senator Jeanne Shaheen needs to have all their application materials postmarked or hand delivered to her Manchester office by the close of business on Friday, October 2, 2015.

 

2. Any senior who is applying for the 32 credit diploma of distinction, the 20 credit diploma or an application to be an early graduate must see Mrs. O'Connell in the guidance office to pick up applications for this process. Completed applications are due back in the guidance office by October 15th.

 

3. Our first college Mini-Fair is scheduled for Friday, September 18th from 9:20-10:20 in the cafeteria. All juniors and seniors will be invited to attend. 

 

4.   Any students that are looking to acquire college credits while earning high school credits through classes that are offering running start need to return their paperwork and payment by 9/18/2015 to the guidance office. 


Laconia Adult Education:

Laconia Adult Education will be offering an SAT Preparation Class beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015. The SAT prep class will meet from 6-9pm for a period of 7 weeks. The SAT prep class is scheduled to end on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015. The cost of the class is as follows:

Registration $75, book fee $20, total cost is $95.00. For more information and to enroll contact Peggy Selig at Laconia Adult Education  at 524-5712.

National Honor Society:

National Honor Society Members: We are signed up to do the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk on October 25th at 10:00 am. Please plan accordingly, and email me your t-shirt size at jhaubrich@sau80.org. Thank you! Ms Haubrich


Upcoming School-to-Career opportunities with Mrs. Burke:

 

1.       NH Construction Career Day at Hillsborough Co. 4-H Center on Sept. 17th - Explore careers in construction and the transportation industry through hands-on experience with heavy equipment, welding, small tools, plumbing, electrical wiring, engineering, and more!  Please sign up in Guidance by 9/10/15 to reserve a spot on the bus! 

 

2.       Ocean Discovery Day at UNH on October 16th – Students interested in exploring careers in Marine Science should take advantage of this opportunity!  You will be able to talk with Scientists, operate an ROV in the deep water tank, learn about ocean mapping and acoustics and touch live sea creatures.  Please sign up in Guidance by 10/8/15 to reserve a spot on the bus!
