Good Afternoon Families,
The following are updates regarding remote learning resource pick-up, internet services and hot spots, food pick-up/delivery and communication:

Important: Remote Learning Resources:
Change in plans: We originally were planning to have families access the buildings to gather remote learning resources. Those plans have changed. This will be a pick-up, drive-through service starting tomorrow through Friday. There will be a traffic pattern established at each school.  Please follow the signs and the instructions from staff. Student learning materials, including items from lockers, have been bagged and tagged by name and grade and will be ready for pick-up tomorrow and Friday. You will be asked your student's name and grade at time of pick-up. The schedule is a follows:

BES, BMS, BHS:
  • Thursday (3/19):

    • A-E: 8-10am

    • F-J: 10am-12pm

    • K-O: 12-2pm

    • P-T: 2-4pm

    • U-Z: 4-6pm

CES:
Thursday and Friday: 8am - 6pm for all students.

If there are extenuating circumstances for which you are unable to make these times. Please contact your student's school. The main contacts are: BES - Lisa Tuthill ltuthill@sau80.org or 267-6568, BMS - Cherri Drake cdrake@sau80.org or 267-9220, BHS - Louise Pridham lpridham@sau80.org or 267-6525, and CES - Lynn Blanchette lblanchette@sau80.org or 783-9944.

Remote Learning Plans:
You will receive a document outlining remote learning information, expectations for students, and some guidance on how to talk to your children about COVID-19. These documents will be sent via email to you by your building principal by the end of the day tomorrow.

Internet Services and Hotspots:
Please refer to the attached document for internet service options and local hotspots. Any additional information we receive in the future will be sent out via email. Our schools are currently set up as hotspots.

Food:
Food Pick-Up for All Students, BHS and CES, 8 AM - 11 AM, will continue tomorrow through Friday of this week. We also plan to continue this pick-up service throughout the extended closure. On top of the pick-up option, we will begin utilizing our buses for daily food deliveries starting Monday, March 23rd.  We are developing specific bus stop locations throughout the community. These will not be located at your normal bus stop. We are developing locations that are convenient to the majority of families in a specific area. I will provide you, in a separate email, all of the details including a map of the bus stops and bus schedule before the end of this week.

Communication:
Our main method of communication will continue to be through email. I will use our SchoolMessenger call/text system when necessary. You can also get updates by following us on social media: Facebook (facebook.com/ShakerRegionalSD), Twitter (@ShakerRegional) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/shakerregionalsd/).

Please continue to contact me with any questions or concerns and continue to check your email.
Thank you.
Michael
