Athletics:

Nordic Ski Meet today @ Jackson bus leaves @ 11:45 AM- dismissed @ 11:35AM

 

Booster Club:

Meeting tonight @ 6:30 in the cafĂ©. 

 

BHS Girls Softball:

 Please mark your calendars… Open Gym will be held every Sunday in the BHS gym from 5:00-7:00PM  until the end of March. Times will be subject to change.

 

Ski Team:

The BHS Ski Teams skied great last Friday against a deep and very solid Division III field.  In the morning GS the girls finished fifth and were led by Maddie Blajda 13th, Kylie Donovan 19th, Alexa Robbins 22nd, and Cori Heimlich 26th. The boys finished second and were led by Chris Spooner-Bishop 7th, Cory Yelle 11th, TJ Hennessey 12th, and Brad Cyr 23rd.
In the afternoon GS, the girls again finished fifth and were led by Maddie Blajda 14th, Kylie Donovan 19th, Alexa Robbins 24th, and Cori Heimlich 25th.  The boys finished second again and were led by Chris Spooner-Bishop 5th, Cory Yelle 13th, TJ Hennessey 17th, and Brad Cyr 20th.

The team is at Gunstock this Friday for a 2:30 GS.

 

Lakes Region Softball:

It's time to register for Lakes Region Girls Softball 2014 Season. If you are interested in obtaining more information please pick up a sheet with the details in the main office.

 

Friends of Belmont Football:

1st Annual Spaghetti Dinner at Lochmere Country Club to benefit Friends of Belmont Football, Saturday, Jan 18th from 5 to 8 pm. Donations of $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12 will be accepted. Meal will include Spaghetti and Meatballs, salad, dinner roll and 1 drink ticket (non-alcoholic).Cash Bar and 50/50 Raffle all to benefit Friends of Belmont Football.

 

Belmont PTO:

1. Will hold its next meeting on Thursday, January 16th, 2014 at 6 pm in the Guidance Office Conference Room.  We hope that you can join us!  BHS PTO monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month.  If you can't join us in January, please consider marking your calendar for one of our future meetings.  
2.Lakes Region Mom Prom at Belmont High School sponsored by our PTO!  Looking for a fun night out with the ladies?  Saturday, March 8 we're dusting off those fabulous dance tunes of the late '70s and '80s and mixing them up with more hits from the latest decades to bring you a wonderful evening out.  Details about the evening will follow, but we wanted to be sure you saved the date on your calendar. It's a great way to raise money for the PTO and have fun dancing (which counts as aerobic exercise) and socializing with friends.

Student Internet Access:

All students who wish to have internet access on their smart phones and any other device that you wish to bring into school you must see either Mr. Russell in the library, or Mr. Fournier in Rm. 108 to get the proper form. Please do not miss class time to do this. You can pick up the forms between classes or during lunch. You will have until the end of this week to do this.

 

Class of 2014: Yearbook :

PARENTS OF SENIORS: There is still time to purchase recognition ads in the yearbook for your graduating seniors!  Please feel free to contact Angela Pitrone atapitrone@sau80.org to place your order or for more information.  Don't wait too much longer... the deadline for submitting final yearbook pages is fast approaching.

Guidance Office:

Students are reminded that semester 2 schedule changes need to be made before semester 2 begins on Monday, January 27th. Students can make schedule changes before school, during break, during lunches, study halls and after school. No students should be out of regular classes to make changes.


Attention Seniors! The Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation application has arrived in guidance along with the John F. Mullen Scholarship and the Annalee Thorndike Art Competition Scholarship. Applications available in the guidance office or on line at www.lrscholarship.org.


Seniors, several new scholarship opportunities have arrived. in the guidance office and can be located on the BHS website under "College Bound" Check the list often for updates and watch DEADLINES!!!!!

 

Class of 2015:

Unique opportunity for you. The Clarkson School in Potsdam, NY has a Scholars Award Program.  In order to be considered for this program, you must be a junior, have a class rank in the top 15%, minimum GPA of 93 and have a great interest in The Clarkson School with an early entrance option. If chosen for this program you could receive a $15,000 scholarship towards tuition and fees. If you fit the criteria and are interested in this program see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance by 2/15.


Clubs:

Student Council:

Meeting  today at 2:15PM in Rm. 216. All class advisers and officers should come to the Student Council meeting in room 216 after school today.  We will be giving out information about Winter Carnival.

Chess Club:

Meets today @ 2:30PM in Rm 209.

National Honor Society:

Will be running a warm clothing drive until the end of the month. They are asking for hats, gloves, coats, pants etc.. If you are interested in donating items can be dropped off in Ms. Angwin's room (204)

FBLA:

1. Here is our meeting schedule for the next month.  We will be planning for FBLA Week and getting ready for the State Leadership Conference beginning Monday, January 13th. If you are interested in joining the fun for the Monarchs Pink in the Rink hockey game in support of breast cancer on February 8th, please see Mr. Hill for a permission slip that should be returned by today.   Please also remember that February 8-14 is National FBLA Week, so we will have many activities going on that week.  Thanks!

2. All students who are eligible for the NH-FBLA State Leadership Conference on March 13th and 14th at the Radisson in Manchester and wish to participate should see Mr. Hill for a commitment form that needs to be returned by Friday, January 17th with your payment.  


3. Can tabs for David's House can be turned in to any FBLA member or Mr. Hill. Thank you! We will be collecting tabs all year.
