Congratulations to Jessie Bergeron on her acceptances to Franklin Pierce University and Lasell College  to Riley Binette on her acceptances to UNH-Manchester, Keuka College and Columbia College of Art-Chicago and  to Brandon Sheppard on his acceptance to NHIA.

 

Athletics:

No games scheduled today. 

 

BG Hockey:

Congratulations to the BG Bulldogs for their 5-2 win over Kennett last night.  The Bulldogs now stand at 10-0 in the DIII standings.  COme watch them as they face a tough Berlin team next Wednesday at Laconia Ice Arena.  Let's go Bulldogs!

Lakes Region Softball Sign ups:

If you are interested in playing for Lakes Region Girls Softball the next registration date is Saturday, Feb 1st from 8:00AM-2:00PM at Belmont Elementary School. Girls must either be from Belmont or Canterbury and have proof of residency. If you are a new player you will need to bring a copy of your birth certificate. Winter warm up clinics are held every Saturday at Laconia Middle School from 6:00-8:00PM. The clinics will be focused on fundamental softball skills. If you would like to obtain more info you can pick up a form in the main office.

 

Commendation Awards:

Will be held tomorrow @ 2:00PM in the library.

 

PTO:
BHS PTO is looking for parents and local community members to host a vendor table at our 1st Annual Lakes Region Mom Prom on Saturday, March 8th from 7-10 pm.  The Mom Prom is a fundraising event for the PTO.  We will have a DJ playing favorite dance hits from the 70s, 80s and beyond, and we are encouraging everyone to wear outrageous gowns !  The PTO is looking for vendors such as Avon, Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Thirty One Bag, Tupperware, Norwex, hair salons, spas, candy shoppes, photographers and more to tempt our guests with some shopping !  There will be no charge to host a vendor table; however we ask that each vendor donate an item valued at $ 20+ retail for our raffle.  Please contact Carrie Martin to sign up, or for more information at

Guidance Office:

2.  Reminder to all students who plan on making up work or competencies that you must do this be 2/14.

 

3.Women in STEM High School Aerospace Scholars (WISH) is an interactive on-line science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning experience for female high school juniors from across the U.S., culminating in a one-week residential experience at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.  Offered at no cost to the student, WISH consists of seven online modules and a final project from January 2014 through May 2014 under the guidance of certified educators.  Based on success in the online coursework, students may be selected to attend a weeklong summer experience where they will interact with NASA scientists, engineers and technologists to design a human mission to Mars.  Additionally throughout the online portion and summer experience, these young women will be introduced to NASA female role models who will share their education and career paths.

http://wish.aerospacescholars.org. The deadline for the application and all supporting documentation is midnight CT, today. The project is sponsored by NASA and the Education Flights Project Office and offered at no cost to the participants.

 

National Honor Society:

1. NHS is looking for a FEW GOOD MEN.  It is that time of year again to put on Mr. BHS.  This year 8 junior and senior men along with their female escorts will parade around the stage, dancing, showing off formal wear, and prancing in a swimsuit.  Please see Ms. Angwin in the Irish Alcove for an application

2.  Last call for warm clothes.  Any size, any shape.  Please donate something you no longer wear.  Drop off in room 204.

Student Council:

 Winter Carnival “Around the World” Semi-formal dance will be held on Friday, Feb. 14th from 7:00-10:00PM. Purchase your tickets in advance today. Pre-bought tickets are $10 or $15 at the door. Food & drinks from a variety of countries will be included in the purchase of your ticket.

NFHS:

National French Honor Society Induction will be held tonight in the library @ 6:00PM.
