ALL AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACTIVITIES CANCELLED FOR TODAY

 

Congratulations to Kiersten Slater on her acceptance to the University of New England


BG Hockey:

The semi final round will be played tomorrow night at Everett Arena in Concord. Bus will leave Laconia Ice Arena @ 3:30PM and the game will start @ 5:30PM Tickets are $5 for students/seniors and $7 for adults


Boys Baseball:

 Will be holding optional open gym sessions before the official start date of spring sports  tomorrow, 5:30 – 7:30, Friday 3/14 2:30 – 4:30,  Thursday 3/20 2:30 – 5:00

 

Winter Sports Awards:

Winter Sports Awards night will be held on Tuesday March 18th at 6pm starting in the gym and breakout sessions to follow

 

Spring Track:

Pre-Season Outdoor Track and Field Meeting is tomorrow at 2:30 in Room 107.  Paperwork and Team Information will be presented.  If unable to attend contact Mr. Hayward in Room 107.  First day of practice is Monday March 24th at 2:30

 

BHS Girls Softball Clinic:

Dust off the cobwebs and learn from college and high school players and coaches on hitting, throwing and fielding. Saturday, March 15th @ BHS for grades 1-8. Grades 1-5 will be from 10:00AM -12:00PM and Grades 5-8 1:00-4:00PM. The clinic is FREE however donations are welcome at check in. To register, please email player info and clinic dates to wclary@icloud.com or call  Bill Clary @ 393-7982.

 

Lakes Region Girls Softball:

Last sign ups for Lakes Region softball will be tomorrow night from 5:00-6:30PM at Belmont Elementary School. To play girls must be a Belmont or Canterbury resident and be  between the ages of 6 and 18 as of Dec 1st 2013. Proof of residency is required for all players. For new players a copy of the child’s birth certificate is also required. For more info please pick up a detail sheet in the main office.


Town of Belmont Parks & Recreation:

Leprechaun Leap 5K Run/Walk- Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00am

The event is a fun way for community members of all ages to come together and enjoy a scenic course. Runners and walkers are encouraged to show their St. Patrick’s Day spirit by dressing in costumes and wearing green. The start and finish lines are at the Belmont Mill parking lot in downtown Belmont. Day of registrations are welcome. For more information about the race or a copy of the registration form and course map, visit www.belmontnh.org.

 

NHS Blood Drive:

We Want Your Blood!  Sign up to donate blood in room 204 for the March 27th  Blood Drive.  You must be 17 or older with a valid ID.  Your school ID works.  If you are 16 with a valid ID and you want to donate blood, you must fill out a permission slip ahead of time.  Free food & t-shirts for all donors. Blood Drive will run from 11:00-4:00PM

News from the Music Dept:

1. BHS Cabaret:

Join the BHS band members on Friday, March 21 for our annual Spring Cabaret!  Members of the high school band and chorus will be performing at 6:30 in the cafeteria.  This year we will be serving a baked potato bar, salad bar and chili, all included in the ticket price!  Tickets are $5.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door.  You can purchase tickets from any band member and proceeds benefit the BHS band program.  Please come enjoy some wonderful entertainment and delicious food and show your support of the Shaker Regional School District's arts department!!  Please contact Mrs. Fountain at lfountain@sau80.org or phone extension 1150 with any questions or to reserve tickets.  We'll see you there!

 

2.Choral Concert:

On Tuesday, March 25th, the BHS Chorus and BMS' 7th & 8th Grade Chorus will present a concert at the High School gymnasium.  This concert will begin at 7:30 PM(instead of the usual, and previously advertised 7:00) to avoid a School Board meeting scheduling conflict.  Parents and students are encouraged to attend. Guidance Office:

1. Seniors: There are many scholarship opportunities in the guidance office. Several scholarship deadlines are fast approaching!!!!!

Lakes Region Board of Realtors  due today , Anna Lee Thorndike Art Competition 3/28, Janice Scott Memorial 3/31, Maurice Fortin Memorial Fund 4/1, Franklin Savings Bank 4/11, Lakes Region Scholarship 4/15 and many others. Don't miss these opportunities to help fund your college tuition. 

 

2. We are looking for a "few good juniors" who may need help with college application fees, SAT and ACT fee waivers and general college prep assistance. You must be a student with a GPA of at least 85. If this sounds like you, please see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance.

Career Corner with Mrs. Burke in Guidance:

The first 10 students interested in learning more about ENGINEERING, please join me on March 27th in our block 3 STEM class to hear from GC Engineering.  Again, this is for the first 10 interested students who stop by guidance to pick up a list of questions for our guest speaker, Mark Condodemetraky.

BHS Broadcasting :

The first Belmont Broadcast is now available on the student resource share drive (in the folder entitled broadcasting)

 

In order to ensure the highest quality playback, please copy and paste the video to your desktop and view it from there.

All Granite State Challenge Members going to the March 15th meet need to turn their permission slip into Ms. Jemery TODAY
