Athletics:

SALT:

There will be a meeting tomorrow  at 4pm in the cafeteria. There will be a special presentation for the Life of an Athlete program.

 

Booster Club:

Meets tonight  at 6:30 in the teacher's room.

 

Winter Sports Awards:

Winter Sports Awards night will be Wednesday March 12th but if hockey wins on Saturday they will play on that night. IF hockey wins the awards night will be on Tuesday March 18th.

 

Spring Track:

Pre-Season Outdoor Track and Field Meeting Wednesday March 12th at 2:30 in Room 107.  Paperwork and Team Information will be presented.  If unable to attend contact Mr. Hayward in Room 107.  First day of practice is Monday March 24th at 2:30

 

Boys Baseball:

There will be a meeting for all interested in baseball tomorrow  at 2:30 

 

BHS Girls Softball Clinic:

Dust off the cobwebs and learn from college and high school players and coaches on hitting, throwing and fielding. Saturday, March 15th @ BHS for grades 1-8. Grades 1-5 will be from 10:00AM -12:00PM and Grades 5-8 1:00-4:00PM. The clinic is FREE however donations are welcome at check in. Mr. BHS Contestants:

1.  There is a meeting after school today in RM. 204.  Rehearsals are tomorrow  @ 2:20 and Thursday a@ 4 PM in the BHS Cafeteria.

 

2. Don't miss out on the” Greatest Show in Town” Thursday night.  Who will be crowned Mr. BHS?  Join the carnival in the BHS cafeteria Thursday night at 6 PM.  Admission is $5

 

Candidates Night:

Come meet the Town Of Belmont candidates tonight @ BHS from 7:00-9:00PM in the café.

 

Drivers Education:

 The spring driver’s education class will begin tonight . Please bring a copy of your birth certificate along with any remaining balance due to Mrs. LaPlante if you did not bring it to last night’s meeting.

 

PTO:
Lakes Region Mom Prom is this Saturday.   Where else can you dance to Bon Jovi, Blacked Eyed Peas, and the Bee Gees while raising money for the students of BHS!  $20 pre-sale tickets are on sale at various school events during the coming weeks.  Special delivery of tickets is available by contacting us at momprom.bhspto@gmail.com.  See you on Saturday, March 8!

Volunteer Babysitters Needed: 

Sign up to help babysit during the town meeting March 7, 6-9 PM.  Sign up in the Irish Alcove.

 

Guidance Office:

1. Congratulations to the following students on their acceptances to college:

Nyasia Lewis-NHTI, Sam Chiu-Rochester Institute of Technology, Jason Taylor-NHTI, University of Bridgeport, Thomas College, Fisher College,Phil White-Plymouth State University and Brandon Sheppard- R.I.T.

 

2. We are looking for a "few good juniors" who may need help with college application fees, SAT and ACT fee waivers and general college prep assistance. You must be a student with a GPA of at least 85. If this sounds like you, please see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance.

 

3. The United States Air Force Academy is holding a forum on Saturday, April 5th from 9:30-11:30 and from 1:30pm-3:00pm at the Boston Public Library (Rabb Lecture Hall) located at 700 Boylston Street, Boston, MA. This event is open to students, parents, community leaders and educators. Come and learn about the Air Force Academy, cadet life and the application process. SEATING IS LIMITED! 4. Seniors, if you have a parent who works for Concord Hospital and you are going to attend college, see Mrs. O'Connell in guidance for a scholarship opportunity.

 

5. Laconia Adult Education will be offering an SAT Prep Class beginning on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. The classes will meet from 6-9PM for a period of (7) weeks. The Classes are scheduled to end on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The SAT exam is scheduled to be given on Saturday, May 3rd. The prep class will enable the student to become more familiar with the types of questions that will be asked. The cost of the class is $95.00, which includes the book fee of $20.  To enroll in the SAT Prep Class you should contact Peggy Selig at Laconia Adult Education at 524-5712.

Clubs:

FBLA - Our next two meetings will be tomorrow and Wednesday, March 12th at 2:20pm in Mr. Hill's room.  Members should come prepared to work on your competitive events or one of the chapter projects (if you are not attending the SLC). Please also see Shania Mulley or Mr. Hill if you have some time to help with the scrapbook over the next two weeks.

 

FBLA State Leadership Conference - All members attending the State Leadership Conference on March 13th and 14th need to be preparing for your competitive events and presentations over the next week and a half.  We will leave BHS at 6:45am on Thursday, March 13th and return on Friday, March 14th at approximately 3:30 or4pm.  Please remember to review the dress code guidelines and wear/bring appropriate attire.  If you have not turned in your BHS permission slip or your NH-FBLA medical form, please do so immediately ... they were due on Feb 14th :-) 

 

CAN TABS - FBLA will be delivering can tabs for David's House next week.  If anyone has collected can tabs for this cause, please bring them to the high school by Monday, March 10th.  We will continue to collect can tabs each year for David's House for those of you who are willing to continue with us.  Thank you for your support of this great New Hampshire organization!

 

Class of 2017:

There will be a class meeting tomorrow in the gym  @ break.

 

Granite State Challenge:

There will be no GSC meeting tomorrow due to play practice. However, please come to Ms. Pine's room at the beginning of break tomorrow  to talk about the next GSC meet and get permission slips. Whether or not you've been to a meet, please plan to attend during break if you are part of GSC!

 

Prom Committee:

 Will have a very brief meeting today during break in Rm. 208


World Language:

The Belmont High School World Language Clubs are hosting an indoor yard sale on  March 8, 2014  from 9a.m.-1p.m. Setup will begin at 7a.m. OR you can come in the previous day and begin an early setup from12p.m.- 2p.m. To have table space, it will cost only $15! Start rummaging through the attic and garage to participate in a fun town event and get a head start on Spring cleaning.
