Athletics:

TODAY:

Boys Hockey home vs Portsmouth 4:40PM

 

 

Indoor Track:

The Belmont HS boys' indoor track team placed 9th (7 points) at the UNH on Saturday. Joseph Boles placed 1st in the 600m, breaking the school record. His time of 1:28.4 is a state meet qualifier. Also scoring was Austin Haddock who placed 6th in the 300m (41.7). The girls' team tied for 7th (6 points). Rebecca Drew-Moyer placed 1st in the shot put (30' 11'). Her performance is a state meet qualifier. 


Swim Team:

200 Freestyle:  1st place - Time: 1:56:16
50 Freestyle:    1st palce - Time: 24:35

Teams: Holiday Invitational 2012-2013 (I think 22 high schools attended this meet)

Results:
200 Freestyle:   1st place - Time: 1:52:21
100 Freestyle:   1st place - Time: 51:03
Team Ranking:  11th place (Not bad for one man team)
Score:               32 points

 

Guidance:

Congratulations to Karleigh O'Brien on her acceptance to Suffolk University, Madison VanCleave  acceptance to Keene State College , Kayli Ennis acceptance to University of Maine Steven Farkas on his acceptance to SNHU, to Devon Kenney on his acceptance to Fairfield University and to MCKenzi Phelps on her acceptance to University of New Haven

 

Reminder to seniors to check the "College Bound" section of BHS website for new scholarship opportunities.

 

The guidance department is looking for students who are interested in architecture, construction, timber frame building, historic preservationist, heavy equipment and engineering to participate on Friday, January 11th during 4th block at the Huot Tech Center Career Panel. Transportation will be provided, NO COST to attend. See Mrs. O'Connell in guidance to sign up and get a permission slip. Deadline to sign up will be Tuesday, Jan 8th.

 

Drivers Education:

The next Drivers Ed class will begin on January 8th and will run until Feb. 21st. You must be 16 by the last class. Classes are each Tues. & Thurs. from 6:00-8:00PM. If you are interested in signing up please pick up a form in the main office. Please note a deposit of $150 is due when you pass in your paperwork.


Clubs:

Yearbook:

Seniors should sign up for a time to create their senior sections, located on the bulletin board in the lobby outside the gym.

 

Drama:

Meeting tomorrow 2:30-3:45PM in Rm. 206.

 

FBLA:

Can tabs - FBLA will be collecting can tabs throughout the year for David's House.  Students are asking families to set up a collection bag or box at home and periodically bring them in.  The can tabs will be delivered to David's House at the end of March.  Thank you for supporting this great cause!
