College Acceptance:

Congratulations to Joe Levesque on his acceptance to Plymouth State University, to Joe Levesque on his acceptance to Plymouth State University, to Brooke Thurber on her acceptance to Plymouth State University.

 

Very big congratulations to Ryan Despres who is the NH Automobile Dealers Association State Winner!! Ryan has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship to attend Ohio Technical College. Great job Ryan, BHS is so proud of you!


Athletics:

There will be a Unified Volleyball sign up/informational meeting on March 26th in room 102 during the first half of power hour. If you are unable to attend the meeting at that time and interested in playing see Mr. Briggs or Ms. White before Thursday.

 

Baseball tryouts/ practice will take place 3/23, 3/24, 3/26, 3/27 at 4:30-7:30ish at BHS.


Mr. Malcolm is looking for 4 skiers and/or snowboarders to race as part of his Franconia Sport Shop team in this year's BODEFEST taking place April 4th at Cannon Mtn.  There is no cost to join the team other than your Cannon Mtn ski pass.  See Mr Malcolm for any further details today.


Guidance:

A Formal Affair in Rochester, NH is a proud participant in Project Cinderella! They will provide to qualifying junior or senior girls a free gently worn prom dress and accessories to attend prom. Their inventory is completely generated through donated dresses. Please see Ms. Haubrich in guidance if you are interested she will have to provide you with a special form to take with you.

eStart is an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their educational experience, and get an early and affordable start on their college careers.

Parents and students who are interested in learning more about the HUOT Tech Center at Laconia High School should plan on attending their Open House today, March 24th from 3-6pm.  Great opportunity to tour the facility!


The American Legion is sponsoring their annual Boys State Program.  Boys State which is a "learn by doing" experience in the American way of government. Eligibility criteria includes boys who will have completed their JUNIOR year in 2015 and will be entering the senior class in the fall. Scholastic average should be 80 or better, must be of good character and health, should have outstanding qualities of leadership and good citizenship. Interested junior boys can pick up an application in the guidance office.  For further details and information please visit the boys state website atwww.nhboysstate.org.  This year's program will take place at Rivier University from June 21-June 26, 2015.

3. Summer Youth Job/Internship FAIR - Students looking for an internship or a job (P/T, F/T, or Seasonal), please pick up a permission slip in Guidance to attend the fair and sign up for any additional Career Services (Mock Interviewing, Resume Writing, How to Fill out an Application, etc.) from Mrs. Burke!

4. Summer Camp Opportunities are rolling in…stop by guidance to see what is available!

5. Taco Bell in Laconia is hiring…stop by guidance if you are 16yrs. or older to pick up and fill out a job application!

PROM:

Prom will be held on Saturday, 5/16 from 6-11pm at Gunstock. Tickets ($50 per person) will be on sale this week during Power Hour.  If you are at the Huot Center during Power Hour, please see 

Ms. Haubrich for ticket purchases. Checks can be made payable to BHS. 

 

FBLA
please send in can tabs for David's House by Wednesday, March 25th, 2015.  FBLA will be turning them in at the State Leadership Conference at the end of the month.  Thank you to everyone who has continued to support this annual effort.

Seniors

Attention SENIORS: You should have received an email inviting you to vote on two questions about the Boston DJ Dance Boat Cruise for our planning purposes.  Please complete that survey no later than this Wednesday at noon time.  You may only vote once and your email address will be recorded.  If you did not receive the email with a link to the survey, please talk to Colton Cadarette.


Calling ALL SENIORS!

Currently the class officers are working on apparel for the end of the year, and we'd like your help! We are asking members of the class to submit designs that will be voted on for the official Class of 2015 apparel (tee shirts, sweatshirts, etc.). All submissions should be emailed to cc00080@sau80.org in JPEG or PDF formats. If you are interested in drawing or painting a design, please scan it and send it that way! Please see Colton Cadarette, or one of the other officers with any questions. 

Submit all designs by April 17th, 2015 at 2:15pm
