Athletics:

There will be a Unified Volleyball sign up/informational meeting Today March 26th in room 102 during the first half of power hour. If you are unable to attend the meeting at that time and interested in playing see Mr. Briggs or Ms. White before Thursday.

 

Baseball tryouts/practice will take place, 3/26, 3/27 at 4:30-7:30ish at BHS.


BHS Equality Alliance

Will meet today 3/26 second half of power hour in the conference room. Our group is comprised of LGBT students and straight allies.  New members are welcome at any time! We meet weekly to advocate for positive change in our school, meet new people, plan activities and have fun!

Your Skin is In Sponsored by the Melanoma Foundation of New England

Your Skin Is In is an educational, pledge based program and contest that encourages teen to make a promise that they will protect the skin they are in by pledging not to tan.  Take the pledge here  http://mfne.org/prevent-melanoma/your-skin-is-in  Individuals and BHS can win prizes for pledging! Come take the pledge and get your face scanned with a UV scanner during power hour Friday in the cafeteria!  See Mrs. Rubbe if you are willing to help with this event!

 

PROM:

Prom will be held on Saturday, 5/16 from 6-11pm at Gunstock. Tickets ($50 per person) will be on sale this week during Power Hour.  If you are at the Huot Center during Power Hour, please see 

Ms. Haubrich for ticket purchases. Checks can be made payable to BHS. 


Guidance:

For any interested sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have not yet committed to a future plan, there will be a field trip on April 7th to LRCC to learn more about their programs. Please sign up in Guidance. You will be asked to list your program of interest on the signup sheet as well.


LRGHealthcare is kicking off the annual Caring Student Intern (CSI) Program which will take place this summer. Two sessions will be offered, one in July and one in August. University of New Hampshire is offering Project Smart Institute this summer. Science and Mathematics Achievement through Research Training. This summer institute is accepting applications from current talented high school sophomores and juniors. This program runs from June 28-July 24. Attention Class of 2016! US Senator Kelly Ayotte has announced that applications are being accepted for nominations to the US Air Force Academy, US Naval Academy, West Point Military Academy and US Merchant Marine Academy, for entry July 2016.  Deadline for application submission is October 15, 2016.  Applications can be found athttp://ayotte.senate.gov. Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce is presenting a JOB FAIR! Wednesday, April 8th from NOON to 4pm at the Margate Resort, 76 Lake Street in Laconia. Stop & meet with local employers to discuss full-time, part-time or seasonal job opportunities including internships for high school and college students. April 7th from 9:00am – 1:00pm for the NHTI - CRIMINAL JUSTICE DAY!  Lunch will be provided at no cost in the campus caf√©!   Permission slips available in Guidance.

3. Summer Youth Job/Internship FAIR - Students looking for an internship or a job (P/T, F/T, or Seasonal), please pick up a permission slip in Guidance to attend the fair and sign up for any additional Career Services (Mock Interviewing, Resume Writing, How to Fill out an Application, etc.) from Mrs. Burke!

4. Summer Camp Opportunities are rolling in…stop by guidance to see what is available!

5. Taco Bell in Laconia is hiring…stop by guidance if you are 16yrs. or older to pick up and fill out a job application!

Freshmen

Remind your parents that this Saturday 3/28 at 1pm we will all be meeting at BHS to get out in the community and sell coupon sheets. We will talk about carpooling. Pizza will be served afterwards.
