College Acceptance:

Congratulations to Brad Cyr on his acceptance to Clarkson University!

Drivers Education:

The next driver's ed class starts on May 5th and will run until June 18th. Please note you must be 16 by the end of the class. Parent Meeting will be on May 4th. If you are interested in signing up please come to the main office for a form. The deposit of $150 is due by April 10th with the remaining balance due on the first class May 4th.


Yearbook:
Any student interested in getting involved with Yearbook next year, come to a meeting with Mrs. Hamilton and this year's editors in Room 206 during the first half of Power Hour on Wednesday, 4/8. There are open positions on the 2016 Yearbook staff for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors!

 

PROM:

Prom will be held on Saturday, 5/16 from 6-11pm at Gunstock. Tickets ($50 per person) will be on sale this week during Power Hour.  If you are at the Huot Center during Power Hour, please see Ms. Haubrich for ticket purchases. Checks can be made payable to BHS. 


Friday, April 10th will be the last day to purchase prom tickets.  Tickets will be on sale this week during Power Hour in the lobby and after that in Guidance by seeing Ms. Haubrich.  If you are bringing a guest, please pick up a form in the main office and return it by Friday, April 24th.  If you have any concerns with meeting these deadlines, please see Ms. Haubrich before the deadline dates.

 

Guidance:

Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce is presenting a JOB FAIR! Wednesday, April 8th from NOON to 4pm at the Margate Resort, 76 Lake Street in Laconia. Stop & meet with local employers to discuss full-time, part-time or seasonal job opportunities including internships for high school and college students. See Mrs. Burke is guidance for more information.


Lakes Region Community College will be holding an Open House on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 9am-noon. Undecided seniors might want to check out the 28 different degree programs they have to offer.


NHTI in Concord will be holding an Open House on Wednesday, April 8th from 5-7pm


Attention Juniors!!

Lakes Region Community College is offering their annual summer scholars program. With the generous support of LRGHealthcare the college will be providing a FREE college Anatomy and Physiology I course to a select group of talented high school students interested in a career in the the field of healthcare. This course is extremely challenging, but very rewarding.  

 

In addition, successful completion of this course will allow students to earn four college credits, which are transferable to the University of New Hampshire, Plymouth State, Keene State and other colleges and universities. Anatomy & Physiology I completion will give students 

applying for selective college programs such as Nursing a significant advantage.  Interested juniors must have completed algebra I and biology as a prerequisites.


LRCC is asking only that students show their serious intention by making a $50 deposit, which will be fully refunded to all students who complete the course. 

 

BHS can only send two students to this program and time is of the essence. Interested students must come to guidance and fill out an application and return it to guidance no later than April 18th.

3. Summer Youth Job/Internship FAIR - Students looking for an internship or a job (P/T, F/T, or Seasonal), please pick up a permission slip in Guidance to attend the fair and sign up for any additional Career Services (Mock Interviewing, Resume Writing, How to Fill out an Application, etc.) from Mrs. Burke!

4. Summer Camp Opportunities are rolling in…stop by guidance to see what is available!

5. Taco Bell in Laconia is hiring…stop by guidance if you are 16yrs. or older to pick up and fill out a job application!

6. Empire Beauty in Laconia is having an Expo on Saturday, April 11th from

BHS PTO

Belmont High School PTO is excited to continue our series of "It Takes a Village" workshops for Lakes Region students and parents.  On Wednesday, April 15, we will have several amazing partners presenting information on Teen Drug Experimentation and Addictions.  This event is free and open to the public – Parents and Students of the Lakes Region!  It will be held in the Belmont High School cafeteria (255 Seavey Rd., Belmont) from 6:30 – 8:30 pm Refreshments will be served. 

Get a realistic understanding of the challenges our kids face and how we can support them by creating awareness in our communities. Tickets are $ 20 in advance or $ 25 at the door.  You can order your tickets by emailingmomprom.bhspto@gmail.com or by calling Gretta Olson-Wilder at 524-2782.

BJ's Membership Fundraiser 
Belmont High School PTO is offering an exciting, money-saving fundraiser from BJ's Wholesale Club. This fundraiser will allow anyone (you, your friends, family, coworkers, etc.) to renew or start a new BJ's membership for a $10 discount and 3 additional months (15 months total). Renewals will be added to the end of your current term - your current membership will not be affected.  Belmont High School PTO earns $5 for every membership ! Please help your BHS PTO continue to support our staff and students. Feel free to share/forward the form with anyone who would be interested in this special offer.

Lakes Region Girls' Night Out / Mom Prom
Belmont High School PTO is hosting their second annual Lakes Region Girls' Night Out/Mom Prom on Saturday, April 18th from 7-10 pm in the Belmont High School gymnasium!  If you are looking for a memorable evening, grab your friends and come join us !  Our DJ will crank up the sound with hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond.  Enjoy door prizes, raffles and games!  Come as you are, or go all out with a prom or cocktail dress !  All proceeds will benefit BHS PTO and help provide programs such as
