BHS PRINCIPALPlease come join us in welcoming our new High School Principal, David Williams, for a Meet and Greet on Wednesday, April 6th at 6:00 p.m. at Belmont High School.

 

College Acceptances

 

Unified Basketball AssemblyThere will be a school-wide assembly TODAY after Power Hour in the gym to honor the Unified Basketball Team.  There will also be a unified basketball scrimmage.

 

Assembly: Just a reminder that we will be having a brief assembly on Monday, April 4th at 12:25 for all juniors and seniors. Kalene Barney from LRCC is coming to describe their programs, in preparation for the LRCC Discovery Day which is on April 15th. The assembly will be in the gym.

 

Equality AllianceEquality Alliance is hosting an informational presentation in the library TONIGHT at 6 p.m. Parents, students and faculty are all welcome to learn how to be a better ally. There will be light refreshments and a raffle. Thank You.

Faith Hope and Love FoundationPlease see the attached flier for The Faith, Hope and Love Foundation's 10th Annual Gowns for Girls and Ties for Guy's Event. FHL will be giving out free formal wear to all young men and women looking to attend prom on Saturday April 16th from 1-4pm.

It Takes a Village - Our Community Drug Epidemic

6:00 – 7:00 Movie

7:00 – 9:00 Panel Discussion

Free event:  No cost for dinner or event!

 

Event Details:  We welcome students, young adults, parents, grandparents and the public from all New Hampshire communities! Please come join us for a very special evening as we come together as a community to discuss the drug epidemic with experts from our town, the Lakes Region, and our state.

Friday 4/1             JV: 5:30 – 7:00            Varsity: 4:00 – 5:30ish

 

Pittsfield Jamboree 4/2 (Varsity Only)

It was cancelled last year but this year it is game on! A plan is in the works for a team feed during our lunch break. The players will wear baseball pants and "warm ups" from last year. Players new to the team please wear red. Bring warm clothes, team jackets, and sweatshirts, as there will be some sitting around involved.

Robotics:  Kelly Smart is hosting a Pampered Chef Catalog Fundraiser to raise funds for the BHS Robotics team, the Roboraiders. Cool Schools:  Don't get to Steeplegate much? No problem, support us by going on their Facebook page and comment on the photo of our poster, Belmont gets 25 points for every comment that refers to your school, i.e.  "Go Belmont"!  April double points for stores that start with A-K the first half of the month, last half L-Z. Each dollar is awarded a point. 

 

Raider RunThe annual Raider Run will be held on April 22nd this year!

 

Girls Lacrosse Schedule for the week of 3/28-4/1

Thursday: BMS @3-5 outside

Friday: Scrimmage against Kingswood Regional High School @ 4pm. *bus time TBD

 

Belmont Middle School:  Please join the Belmont Middle School in their Drama Production of Get Smart April 1 and April 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the Belmont Middle School Gym.  General Admission is $5 and children six and under are free.  Please see attached poster.

 

Intramural Basketball:

Anyone interested in Intramural Basketball, hosted by: Mr. Rainone,

When:              During Power Hour (10:25-11:15)

                         à Wednesday & Thursday

Where:             Gym

Description:

·         Pick-Up style Play (1's & 2's)

·         King of the Court

·         People waiting for next will play winner, and pick up any remaining players if necessary

·         Players on losing team will shoot for next game

·         Score count will be determined depending on how many show up. (i.e. 11 or 15, win by 2)

·         DO NOT SHOW UP IF YOU HAVE HOMEWORK TO COMPLETE

 

Pennies for PatientsNational Honor Society is kicking off a Pennies for Patients fundraiser! Your spare change can benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! The LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. There are collection boxes in each classroom! Donations are counted by block 5/6 classes, so feel free to make this a healthy competition!! Thank you for your support!

Criminal Justice Day - April 1st @ NHTI - students will have the opportunity to hear from different law enforcement agencies to learn more about their careers and skills needed to be successful in this field.  Lunch is included.   Please see Ms. Burke for more information and please pick up the permission slip in the School Counseling Office.

 

Junior boys: Attention boys of the junior class. The American Legion Dept. of NH will be holding their annual Boys State summer program from June 26th-July 1st, 2016, at Rivier University in Nashua, NH. This is an affordable educational program for boys completing their junior year of high school. The only cost is a non-refundable $50.00 application fee. GRANITE STATE GAMES TRYOUTS:

Coming this June the multi-sport competitive Granite State games for New Hampshire athletes.  These games are a great opportunity to get extra training, work/meet different coaches, and get seen in front of college scouts and most of all to have fun!  All events are open to incoming freshman (8th graders) – juniors (graduating 2017).
