HERE'S WHAT'S NEW:

 

Girls' LacrosseAny girls interested in Girls' Lacrosse, there is a meeting Thursday, March 10th at 3:00 in the cafeteria.

 

College AcceptancesCongratulations to Kyle Gelinas on his acceptance to Bryant University.

 

Winter Sports Awards:  Winter Sports Awards night is Wednesday, March 9th at 6:00 p.m.

 

Unified Basketball:  All unified basketball players, please return your cleaned uniforms to Mr. Briggs as soon as possible.

 

Spring Track and Field:  There will be a brief meeting for Spring Track and Field Wednesday, March 9th, during Power Hour in room 107.  Paperwork will be distributed and reviewed for all interested students.  Any students unable to attend please see Mr. Clark or Mr. Hayward.

 

Boy's Baseball:  There will be a meeting for anyone interested in playing baseball this spring on Wednesday, March 9th at 2:35 in room 202.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Cool Schools Food Drive:  We will be having a food drive March 2nd – March 22nd for our community food bank and Easter.  Donations of Easter Baskets and fixings are greatly appreciated.

 

Katie Sinclair's Senior Project:  Please help Katie raise money by donating to benefit the NH Humane Society for Katie's Senior Project.  All funds collected will be used to purchase goods for the Humane Societies around NH.  Donations will start tomorrow, March 3rd and run until Friday, March 18th.  Donations can be made in the office any time before the school day ends.  Thanks so much for your support!

 

Juniors:   Laconia Adult Education will be offering an SAT (COLLEGE BOARD) PREP CLASS beginning on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.  This class will prepare students for the NEW-REDESIGNED SAT exam to be given in May. Classes will meet from 6-9pm for 7 weeks. The classes are scheduled to end on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. The cost of the class is $95.00 which includes the book fee. For more information or to sign up, please call Peggy Selig at 524-5712. The SAT Prep class will be held at Laconia High School, Room#302.

 

 

 

GRANITE STATE GAMES TRYOUTS:

Coming this June the multi-sport competitive Granite State games for New Hampshire athletes.  These games are a great opportunity to get extra training, work/meet different coaches, and get seen in front of college scouts and most of all to have fun!  All events are open to incoming freshman (8th graders) – juniors (graduating 2017).

 

If you are interested in participating in the 2016 Granite State Games and have any questions please talk to Student Ambassadors Devin Poslusny, Chaz Hacking or Athletic Director Ms. Knolhoff.  Also, here is the link:

Leprechaun Leap 5k Saturday, March 19 in Belmont:  Our 4th annual run/walk is coming up soon!  Entry fee for pre-registrations, as well as day-of event registrations, is only $10. The 5k starts and finishes near the Belmont Mill (behind the Library). Our challenging loop includes Concord St., Wareing Road, South Road, and Shaker Road. Prizes awarded for top finishers in Adult Male/Female, and Youth Male/Female divisions.    

 

Junior Ladies:  Attention ladies of the junior class. The American Legion Auxiliary Dept. of NH will be holding their 72nd session of Granite Girls State from June 26th-July 1st, 2016, at St. Anselm's College in Manchester, NH.  This is an affordable educational program for girls completing their junior year of high school.  The only cost is a non-refundable $50.00 application fee. Boy's LacrosseThere will be open gym for boy's lacrosse every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. until further notice.

Seniors:  Seniors, we have 22 scholarship opportunities in the guidance office. WATCH your DEADLINES!!  Most will have deadlines that expire by the end of April. Make good use of your vacation week and work on getting some FREE MONEY!!!!! for college.

 

Seniors, scholarships are arriving in the guidance office almost daily! Many new ones include Skrungloo Farm, Hood Good Sportsmanship, New England Newspapers (Journalism scholarship), Maurice Fortin Memorial, Nursing Schools Alamanc and Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation!! These scholarships are TIME SENSITIVE!! Guidance:

 

TODAY, BHS will host a Winnipesaukee Muskrats DAY!  Students interested in a summer internship with them will be able to sign up and learn more about the various career related opportunities.  LRCC Application

Summer College Sessions and Camp Opportunities are now being offered to high school students.  If you are interested in learning more about them, stop by the School Counseling Office to pick up flyers and brochures.  Some opportunities have a March application deadline – so act fast!
