Belmont High School - Quarter 3 Progress Reports

4/9/20

Good afternoon and Happy (Rainy) Thursday, Belmont High School Students and Families!

As you have seen in the Revised BHS Remote Learning Plan (emailed April 3, 2020), our building professionals are completing and posting (on Empower) Quarter-3 progress reports this coming Wednesday (4/15). Please be aware that, in order to give teachers time to organize, assess, and report on work/standards to the fullest degree possible, only student work submitted to our faculty through the end of our Monday, 4/13, professional day (ending at 3pm) will be applied to students' standard/course scores on the progress report. Assignments that are passed in, by the teacher's due date or otherwise, after 3pm on Monday impact the student's rolling semester standard scores/course score; however, these will not be taken into account when determining the student's Q3 progress toward standard proficiency. Therefore, if a student has not submitted assignments that were due prior to 4/13 at 3pm, this would be a contributing factor to a student possibly receiving a lower score in the standard or course than he/she desires. This is because the teacher would have less/little/no evidence by which to come to a standard conclusion.

So - between this evening, tomorrow (Friday), this coming weekend, and Monday (4/13 by 3pm), be sure to focus, submit your best work, communicate with your teachers, consider reassessments, and do what you can to show us what you've got!

We're all here to help you, and we miss seeing your faces on a consistent basis! Reach out with questions or concerns when they arise - or to just check in! You've got this!

I hope you continue to have a great Thursday! Take care and be well!

Mr. Matthew Finch

Principal, Belmont High School
