Re: hallway message

Wmur9 will be airing a segment on our school tonight related to the yik yak issue.  The segment will include hearing from the five girls responsible for the positive notes and for taking on this issue, demonstrating their courage and hope in inspiring others.

Take care,

Rick

Today at Belmont High School, October 2, 2014:

This morning students, faculty and staff were greeted with kind and inspirational quotes placed on student lockers by an anonymous student.  These quotes were a thoughtful way to counteract much of the negative comments that have hurt ours and other communities through the application Yik Yak.  Much of the negativity related to that application has caught the attention of news agencies across the region.  I pass along photos and quotes which are an inspiration to all people about how to react to negativity in appropriate ways.  I believe in our youth and today I was reminded of their strength, compassion and kindness.

Here are some of the quotes:
Turn that frown upside down, today will be brighter with your positivity
Your hard work is inspiring, keep at it! You've got this
You're flawless; every part of you is unique and wonderful
Your smile is so perfect! We want to see it more often:)
I hope your day is as wonderful as you are!
Your happiness is beautiful, keep smiling!
You are a wonderful individual, and you will always matter!
