Athletics

NO EVENTS SCHEDULED

 

Gilford JV lost in a hard fought game against Campbell 8-7.  Tanner Woods had an 80 yard touchdown run. Dylan Gansert had over 100 rushing yards for the second straight game. Dalton Orneales had an exceptional game,  completing a large percent of his passes to multiple receivers including Nate Cobis for 5 catches. 

 

Optional Fall Throwing Sessions

*For any returning or prospective throwers for Track and Field. Focus will be on Discus and Javelin, Footwork, and Strength Priorities. Nov. 12, 13, 18, 20; 2:30-3:30 after school, weather permitting...dress to go outside! See Mr. Hayward in Rm 107!

 

Facebook Contest

Please take two minutes and vote for Belmont High School to win the art grant that Meredith Village Savings Bank is currently offering.  The prize of $3,000 for our art program at the high school would be fantastic!  Please vote, and also ask your thousands of friends to vote for us as well.

Class of 2016

The Class of 2016 will be selling Yankee Candles from 10/24 - 11/7.  Students who were not at the kickoff meeting on Friday can see Clorissa Roode or Ms. Haubrich for a packet.  Additional instructions were emailed to the BHS Parents 2016 distribution list.  If you did not receive them, please email Mr. Hill (bhill@sau80.org) to get that information.  All packets must be returned to Mr. Hill or Ms. Haubrich by Friday, November 7th.  Students receive 40 percent of their sales.  Orders will be in around the end of the first week in December.

 

Holiday Fair

Holiday Fair - The 8th Annual BHS Holiday Fair hosted by the Future Business Leaders of America will be held on Saturday, November 8th from 9am to 3pm at the high school.  Over 100 crafters and vendors will be on hand, and the day will also include a large raffle and breakfast, lunch, and snack items throughout the day.  The BHS PTO will also be hosting a Santa's Village shopping experience for kids, where they can purchase and wrap surprise gifts for parents and friends to open during the holidays.  New this year, Santa will be in attendance and available for photos, so bring your cameras.  A portion of the proceeds from the fair will be donated to local charities for the holidays.  Make plans now to come start your holiday shopping with us!  Thank you for your support!

 

FBLA

We need several students who can bring in dollies on Friday, November 7th to help vendors move in and out. 

 

The meeting scheduled for today (Tuesday) has been changed to this Thursday, October 30th at 2:20pm in Room 211.  Please make sure you have completed any work assigned (raffle team, especially!) prior to this meeting, including letting Makayla or Kylie know what you will bring for the food table (lunch items in crock pots).  If you still owe dues, just a friendly reminder to bring $20 with you as well.  Thank you!

For all students ... FBLA will continue to collect can tabs all year for David's House. You can drop them off in Rm 211 or pass into the main office. Thank you for your support!

 

Wellness Committee

The SRSD Wellness Committee is in need of 1-2 students who are willing to be part of the district Wellness group. The meetings will be held once a month at 3:30 in the SAU conference room. If you are interested in joining please see Ms. Lavallee.

 

Senior Pictures                                    

The deadline to submit senior pictures is fast approaching. Submit a disc or flash drive to Caitlyn Keville or Mrs. Hamilton BY OCTOBER 31st. Any photos turned in after this date will be charged a late fee.

 

Yearbook Sale

Order forms are available through Mrs. Hamilton in Room 206 or click here to order your yearbook online.

 

Guidance

Seeking 2 or 3 mature student volunteers who have their own transportation to volunteer helping set up for a Veteran's Day event at the VFW in Laconia on Thursday, November 6th from 12:30-3:30pm. Great way to build your resume and get volunteer hours! See Mrs. O'Connell in the guidance office if you are interested. I need a definite commitment by Wednesday, October 29th.

 

The University of Rhode Island will be doing a guidance visit on Wednesday, October 29th at 11:30am. Juniors and seniors who are interested in hearing about URI should sign up in the guidance office.

Northeastern University will be holding their annual "Women in Engineering" day on Friday, October 31st, from 9-3. This program is designed for female students who are interested in learning more about their outstanding engineering program and meet some of their students. To reserve a place you must RSVP by October 20th by emailing r.reisberg@neu.edu, there is a 5 student limit per school. 

 

 

Notice

Our BHS school handbook calendar incorrectly states that there in no school on Friday, November 7th. There will be a full day of school on Friday, November 7th and  NO SCHOOL on Monday November 10th and Tuesday November 11th. First term grades will close on Friday, November 7th and report grades will be mailed approximately one week later. 

 

Math Team

Math Team members need to meet with Mrs. Delgado in Room 112 on Wednesday, October 29th, at 10:50.

 

Drama

Drama rehearsal from 4-6pm in the band room

 

Spanish Club

Come one, come all to the best Spanish Club meeting of them all. Day of the Dead celebration room 105 after school Thurs. 10/30, 2:15-3:15

 

Fitness Room

Fitness Room will be open Tuesday and Wednesday this week.  2:25 - 3:15

 

Student Council

There will be a student council meeting today after school in room.
